Had to sit in the reception of the emergency department for 5 minutes following an X-ray. I had an operation 2 days prior and have a brace the span of my leg fitted to my knee so it’s pretty obvious that I’d struggle walking. Had the most unpleasant woman on the front desk, at first asked me if i were there to book in and I explained to her that I’d be sat for 5 minutes whilst awaiting someone to bring the car around. She clearly wasn’t happy about this and took issue with me claiming I was being selfish, and HAD to move, eventually crawling out her little booth and confronting me - again I could hardly walk and told her this, as well as the obvious brace on my leg… In the end I struggled to get up and stand in the doorway for the further 2 minutes I had to spend there, again just whilst awaiting for someone to pick me up. Reception staff clearly need to understand they work in a hospital and could certainly do with more compassion, disgrace.

I waited over 8 hours in the hospital (from midnight until morning) while vomiting and coughing. After all that time, I was only told to take Calpol — which I had already taken before coming in. I understand there might not have been much else they could do at that moment, but the waiting times really need improvement. The NHS is under serious pressure, and you can feel it — the system seems to be collapsing under the weight of demand.

I just want to say a huge thank you to the incredible staff who looked after my daughter last night. From start to finish, everyone was amazing. One broken arm expertly straightened, and we were in and out within two hours, timing was on our side, but it was the care, compassion, and professionalism from Amy and her team that truly stood out. They made a scary experience so much easier for both us and our daughter, and we are beyond grateful. Thank you for going above and beyond, you really are the best.
