Gave me total peace of mind protecting my assets..gave sound legal advice in setting up my trust. Also help writing my will to ensure my wishes are carried out as I want.

I accompanied my elderly parents at their request to a will writing appointment. Had I not been there they would have handed over around £5000 for services we have now found for £995 elsewhere with a trusted and fully regulated company. I dread to think how much people are overpaying daily by going with this company.

I was approached in Asda by an Equity salesman. I Wrongly gave my phone number for someone to call me about a will. I done some research and decided I do not want to use an UNREGULATED body to write a will. I also discovered that they will try and sell you trusts once they are in your house. Putting your home into a trust is a minefield and should not be trusted to anyone other than a regulated Solicitor. I decided not to use such a firm. Glad I didn’t. They are worse than a pushy car salesman called Honest John. They will not leave me alone. They have called me every day for 2 weeks now. They are not there to help you just trying to sell you products and make money from gullible people

Avoid Equity Will Writers – A Nightmare Experience I am compelled to write this review to warn others about our truly appalling experience with Equity Will Writers. I rarely leave online reviews, but the level of incompetence and poor service we encountered makes it my duty to share. My late father, who was suffering from Parkinson’s/dementia, engaged their services in April 2022. The costs were exorbitant – over £1000 for their services, plus £50 per year just for document storage. My father sadly passed away in October 2024. Within 7 days of his passing, I followed their procedure and left a voicemail informing them and providing my contact details. We heard absolutely nothing back. It wasn’t until May 2025 that I noticed the £50 annual storage fee was still being debited from my mother’s bank account. Upon contacting Equity Will Writers, they astonishingly had no record or knowledge of my father’s passing, despite my prompt notification back in October 2024. This immediately raised serious concerns about their internal communication and record-keeping. The situation then escalated significantly. When I requested the release of my parents’ wills and Power of Attorneys, it came to light that these crucial documents were INCOMPLETE AND HAD NEVER BEEN REGISTERED, despite us having paid storage fees for them for three years. Their explanation on the phone? “Poor training.” This is completely unacceptable for a service dealing with such vital legal documents, especially after three years of engagement and continuous payment. I have attempted to complain several times regarding their shockingly poor communication and non-delivery of services. The response has come from someone named Koren Smith. Instead of taking a proactive and responsible role in addressing his company’s significant shortcomings, Koren Smith adopted an aggressive tone, completely disavowed any responsibility, and squarely blamed the customer. He even claimed they had tried to reach out to my family, for which we have absolutely no evidence. I fully expect a similar tone in response to this public review. Given the gravity of these issues – paying substantial fees for incomplete and unregistered legal documents, a complete breakdown in communication following a death, and utterly unhelpful customer service – I have now escalated my concerns to The Society of Will Writers. Do NOT use this company. Save yourself the stress, expense, and potential legal complications.

Equity Will Writers recently helped my mum and dad with setting up their wills, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. From start to finish, the service was outstanding. They came directly to my parents’ home, which made the whole process so much easier and more comfortable for them. The representative was friendly, professional, and incredibly patient, taking the time to clearly explain everything and answer all of their questions. It gave us real peace of mind knowing that everything was being handled properly and that my parents’ wishes were being carefully listened to and documented. Equity Will Writers made the experience straightforward and reassuring. A tremendous job all around—thank you!

Iain Ray came along and explained everything patiently and in detail , with no pressure and very open to any questions we had. Will be recommending to friends and family their service . A weight of our shoulders and happy with the cost as it’s worth it to not have to worry about going it for ourselves .

Just had a visit this evening from a chap called Colin, to help write a will for my mum. All he was interested in was selling a two Lasting Power of Attorneys priced £325 each plus registration fees (basically £400 each one) You can do these yourself on the Government website for £82 each. Also was trying to sell Family Assett Protection at almost £4000, though he could offer a discounted rate if we signed tonight. Almost kicked him out of the house at this point! People like this should not be allowed in vulnerable peoples houses and I'm just glad I was there with my mum. Avoid these horrible people at all costs.

Equity come to visit me in the comfort of my own home! Very good service and we also got our power of attorney done through them! Fantastic.

Really pleased with the service. A lovely chap came out to the house and couldn't have been more helpful. Myself and my partners wills are now sorted - and at a resonable price too. Highly recommend!
