Best 2 days of my life coming here! The preservation of the rolling stock of Ireland here is amazing with so many locomotives, wagons and coaches it is one of the best places for an Irish rail fan to go. I went on the diesel gala and the heritage weekend and it was brilliant. Seeing the currently only working 121 class, A class A39r, 458 617 and 146 running almost made me cry seeing them. The volunteers were nice and helpful and the journey was amazing for only 2 miles to Inch Abby it was still wonderful and for being the only 5β3 gauge railway in Ireland it holds a special place in my heart.

This is such an amazing heritage railway! We went today for the Shamrock Express train and it did not disappoint! The staff were all super friendly and made loads of chat with us about trains. I was even given a cab ride which was amazing. The whole railway was really well maintained and the trains - although definitely worn - are still in great working order (well, some of them at least). I would really recommend a visit and supporting the railway is crucial for it to improve and get steam trains running again. I will certainly come again!

An absolutely amazing museum and heritage railway. Many preserved locomotives and carriages thanks to the hard work and dedication of the DCDR volunteers. If you're interested in the past of railways in Northern Ireland then this place is one you absolutely MUST take you and the family to for a great wee day out!

Great place to visit. Steam & Diesel trips and museum showing the history of the line. They also showcase their restoration projects, restoring old rolling stock so that they can be used on the line.

Well done to all involved for making todayβs Santa Express a thoroughly enjoyable experience for a five year old, her parents and grandparents. We had a great time. The drink and biscuit to start with was very welcoming, and all the staff were very friendly. The carriage was nicely decorated and Mr and Mrs Claus, and his elves were great.

Great railway station run by lovely volunteers. Cafe usually in the main building or buffet cart on board with hot and cold drinks crisps and sweets. Great museum with activities and dress up for kids.

Absolutely amazing, I'm in no way a train enthusiast but I was very impressed with not only the friendly, enthusiastic staff (who clearly love volunteering here) but also the museum of old railway cars and a vast amount of information & pictures about railways in Northern Ireland. The short train journey was great - the steam train made it. Young & old will love to visit.
