7 weeks!!!!!!!!!!! I hate to leave bad reviews when businesses are trying their best, but I need to be honest to anyone looking to use FMG services in Havant. I had severe damage to my rear bumper and boot. My fault. Our insurers instructed FMG who in fairness were very quick to get me booked in. Drivers collected my car and they were extremely pleasant and courteous. They delivered me an almost brand new Corsa which was already heavily damaged on the paintwork (but all acknowledged and recorded). I was told repairs may take a couple of weeks due to ordering a new boot door etc, so I made arrangements for my work over the next two weeks to allow for the very small courtesy car - I have a large SUV due to the nature of my business. Two weeks pass and there were absolutely no updates from FMG. So I called and was told they were still in the painting process and should only take another few days. I was relieved as my work schedule was becoming tricky. Another 5 days pass and still no update, so I called again. No, still in the painting process. So I asked when they expect it to be finished and they said by the end of week 3. Beginning of week 4 and still no car! So I called again and was told it would be ready at the end of the week. By now, I have had to put a lot of work on hold and I was getting more than a little frustrated at the lack of updates. When I called FMG again, mid-way through week 5, I was told customer services would call me with a more in-depth update. Cheryl did call me and she was lovely and very professional. Apparently my car had been put back together, painted etc but it was discovered that the rear sensors were damaged and they had to order them in. Apparently the sensors are behind welded panels, so more repairs and painting PLUS recalibration would be needed. She said they would call when the part was in. Again, another week passed and no update, so I called again and was told the parts haven’t arrived yet - some issue with this being a new brand of car and parts not easy to get hold of. But couldn’t help thinking that the severe damage of my car should have called for new sensors from the outset so I was a bit puzzled why they waited until it was fixed before ordering??? Anyway, another week of no updates and then I suddenly had a phone call from Cheryl to say that my car was ready for delivery. SEVEN WEEKS!!! My car has been returned and looks brand new. I am pleased with the finish. And the chap who delivered my car was lovely. However, I cannot, under any circumstances recommend FMG purely because the length of time it took for repairs and the incredibly poor communication. If you are directed to this company from your insurers, please request a different company!!!

Terrible experience, will never use again! This was last year, 2024, but took a long time to try to settle. Our Ins Co (Tesco) uses this garage for repairs & we were advised to go to them with a no fault accident repair for a very small scratch at the front of our car. Told would take 7-10 days but heard nothing from them! After toing and froing about various things that had gone wrong with car while in their possession which were fine when we took it in, we eventually got our car back from them 6 weeks later, with the charging flap unable to be opened but they just left it on our driveway & refused to take it back even though my husband insisted they do!!! As it was an electric car, this meant that we could not use the car & had to get it back to Peugeot for this to be fixed together with a problem with a sensor on the car & main charge unit, at considerable cost to ourselves. I would never recommend this garage as they didn't check our car over when we dropped it off and just insisted that these problems were already happening. Please be aware, especially with an electric vehicle as I do not believe they knew the technicalities when dealing with this.

Courtesy car was delivered to me with a broken brake light. It was suggested by a member of staff that I drive illegally with just one brake light. I had to go to halfords to get it sorted or they suggested I could have brought the car 20 miles back to FMG Havant for them to replace it! I explained this was not doable and It was agreed I could give fmg the halfords receipt for reimbursement. However, I provided my bank details on the 24th July and STILL haven’t had any money??? The car looks fine repairs done but communication wasn’t great and occasionally rude/bad legal advice on trying to let me drive with one brake light. They supposedly check all courtesy cars before delivering them however the brake light warning flashed up on the dashboard the second I turned the ignition!! Utter lies. Admiral insurance recommended this repair company.

Absolutely awful experience...so stressful and upsetting experience. Car had to be returned three times due to poor quality of repair. I wasn't even being picky, it was such a bad job - paint drip, bad fitment, the list goes on. Even damaged an alloy and refused to repair it even though I had pictures to prove that they did the damage! Drove the car on the road without an MOT even though I told them verbally and via email that the car didn't have an MOT. The hire car had warning lights, no fuel and wasn't clean. Absolute shambles from start to finish. Please choose a repairer with good reviews and don't waste your time

My insurance company sent me to FMG, everything was quickly handled and parts ordered. There was a little blip midway through with lack of communication which is why I did not give 5 stars. Cheryl is fantastic, the rest of the service team should follow suit, in her absence I was finding myself having to get answers or updates. That aside, in general the process was fast. My car is rare and needed to ensure protection of other areas whilst replacing and spraying new bumper, they did a good job of this, my ceramics advisor came with me to inspect the car before handing it back to me to ensure tone was correct and spray was done accurately. Bar some very minor things thay 99% of people would never notice, it was done exceptionally well, my advisor even said it’s probably the best he has seen, and he gets several repair jobs every week to redo! Some of other staff members were excellent also, again a small blip on phone mid way through, slight argument more frustration than anything but was rectified quickly. My advice to them is to keep customers updated regularly. Overall very happy, engineers fantastic also as they helped me with some error codes also. Other review I saw were what led me to be cautious half way through. I suggest ensuring you talk to them when handing car over to make sure they communicate regularly. You will get a 10/10 service

Annoying. Booked in for morning repair. No one showed up. When I called in someone said it was a head office mistake on the email. A sorry would have been nice for wasting my morning.

After having an accident in our car in November Direct line recommended using this repair garage for the repairs. All began well with insurance dealing with everything and why would you not use the insurers repair shop as it takes away all the hassle of sorting the repair quotes yourself. Upon collection of the car 3 days later which we felt was reasonably quick I was surprised to find they had turned up to drive the car 50 miles to their garage rather than collect it on a recovery truck but at this point did not mind as I assumed it was to speed things up. After having the car for the 2 weeks estimated repair time we where informed that it would be a further 2 weeks to complete repairs due to extra parts required, again this was all ok and we understand these things can happen. When the car was finally delivered back unfortunately things started to show how poor the service is from this garage. The car was again driven back not transported so it looked like it had been driven off road and required us to clean the car to be able to inspect the work carried out. Once the car had been cleaned we noticed some damage to the rear of the car that was not present when collected and was not part of the original damage. We contacted FMG who came to collect the car and again it was driven not recoverd. So by this point by the time is was returned they had covered over 200 miles in the car with a token jester splash of diesel. Before collection I had identified all areas that needed attention with tape on the car and by pictures via e mail. Once the car had been returned, not all the damage caused whilst the car was with FMG had been repaired and masking tape and masking lines where clearly visible which the guy who brought the car back agreed with and said he would report back. Again it was agreed they would take the car back and rectify the problems only now it's being done as a gesture of good will as they can't say if they did the damage or not, even though it's not shown in the pictures taken before they had the vehicle. It has now been 4 weeks since the car was collected again and no work has been carried out as they cannot see any issues with the car and are awaiting an inspection from the insurance company, who have not even had a request to send an engineer to look at the car. I cannot explain how difficult and evasive this company is if you highlight any issues with their work and would never take anything I own anywhere near an FMG Repair centre. They currently won't even return my car even though I have requested to do so as I now want the problems address at another garage at my cost. I expect a standard response to this review that will likely ask me to contact them to discuss the issues. If I have to write a review like this it's because you have not addressed the issues and are only responding to not look as bad as your business really is.
