In August 2024 we ordered and paid a deposit for a pool. Due to illness and a death in the family we postponed and then cancelled our order. The pool was due to be installed in Feb 2025 and we cancelled the order three months before this in November 24. The company would not therefore have spent anything on our pool except for initial visits and drawing up of plans. Initially we asked that they please consider a partial refund of our deposit to cover the above costs. We then explained about the change in circumstances. We understand that legally we have no rights to a refund of our deposit but which (consumer group) legal team advised us it is considered good practice to refund a fair amount of a deposit based on costs already incurred. We wrote to the head office to ask them to reconsider their stance. They declined and kept 100% of the deposit paid. On the basis of this companies lack of decency we would advise caution.
