Majority of Staff are very good and do a hard job that many people would not want to do But the structure from the top needs addressing to make things better for the family members Just seem to go round in circles at times
Been visiting a relative for over 1yr on 2nd floor " known as dementia floor " I visualise everything that goes on around me. The cleanliness, the presentation of the food served and most of all the care & attitude towards the residents. I'm vigilant at all times and from what I see is good caring staff that do show compassion towards the residents especially Erica one of the carers who goes above & beyond to help and calm the residents. She cares for them in a way as if there all her relatives. On learning she had left was devastating for some families who still visit there loved ones. Even now Erica is still the topic of conversation and how they all wish she'd return.
It is not easy to put into words the gratitude my family and I feel for the care given by all the staff at Birkley care home. My mother suffered for many years with Alzima and sadly lost the love of her life in November 2018 leaving mum alone and confused. For a number of years we cared for her at home but following a hospitalisation she was referred to Birkley care home for recuperation and all this was only for a short period the care she got was second to none. Some time later following more hospitalisation she was placed into a different care home and this was not to the high standard that we had experienced at Birkley care home. She was then moved to another care home and sadly that care still did not match Birkley care home so when a place came available at Birkley we grasped the opportunity straight away and what a difference it made to mum and all of our family. The care and attention to mum needs was brilliant and considering the staffing problems that this industry works under the staff were fantastic. All of my family want to give the biggest possible thank you to all of the staff but in particular those that saw to my mums needs on a daily basis. John Fallowfield
Realy good home for the elderly staf take realy good care.
So delighted with Berkeley House. The words Care Home leave us feeling concerned and fearful but nothing could be more different than this home. Smells lovely, feels caring, staff wonderful. Berkeley has completely changed my outlook on Care Homes. I know there are bad homes but I feel a sense of comfort and huge relief that my mum is in the trust of such a special place with very special staff.
Thank you for the loving care you are providing for my grandma at a very difficult time, the staff here are so much more than there job titles, I would highly recommend this care home and I just wish she had come into your care earlier, also thank you for the support you have provided to me and our family.
Staff are extremely caring and efficient. We have seen a massive improvement in my dad since going into Berkeley house on a permanent basis . Much happier as he has constant company with new friends and the staff are always friendly and caring .
