This very successful business/pub has been recently taken over by a new landlord. Went in on A Saturday night and it was almost empty. What a stark contrast to what it’s been. The bar person served me a pint a (that’s was expensive compared to other pubs locally) of very cloudy and clearly the dregs at the very end of a barrel and didn’t notice! What a stark contrast to what it’s been! The open fire wasn’t lite, which is one of the well known and liked features of the original pub ownership. The pub sector complain about this tax and that tax and pubs closing left right and centre but as I can see here, this business doesn’t help itself and hasn’t got a clue that it’s in the service industry!

A traditional pub, recently taken over by new landlady from another thriving town centre pub. Good selection of drinks, friendly staff, clean and welcoming. Open fires for winter. Easy access to the train station and other Macclesfield pubs, restaurants and bars.

Good Beer Guide-listed pub with a large selection of real ales, and an interesting interior. Not far from Beeston town centre.

Great little traditional english pub. Not sure what food they do but wide selection of drinks. Prices were OK and sport was on the TV. Comfy seats. Pop in after you have had your tattoo from next door

On a mission as a young pub crawler to explore the extent of Bass in pubs around the country. Popped in here while I was in Macclesfield. Good cool pint of Bass, much appreciated in the current hot weather we’re getting. Pub itself has plenty of decor and interesting furnishings to satisfy any pub crawler! And if Bass isn’t your thing, there’s plenty of other good stuff on tap which you can see in pics I’ll attach! Recommended if you’re in town and after good ale, good surroundings and good atmosphere!
