    My dog gets quite stressed going to kennels, the team are lovely. They ensured he ate, and gave him lots of love. Whilst he was extremely pleased to be home, I know the staff cared for him and I was grateful when I called up from my holiday for the knowledge on my dog and for them providing reassurance he was doing ok

    Extremely Disappointed โ€” Serious Concerns About Care and Owner Accountability We recently boarded our two miniature dachshunds (aged 1 and 2) at this kennel for the first time, as our regular facility was fully booked. I want to begin by saying that the staff we interacted with during drop-off and pick-up were genuinely lovely and polite โ€” they made a great first impression, and we truly appreciated their kindness. Unfortunately, the actual care our dogs received during their stay was deeply concerning, and has led to both emotional distress and significant financial costs for us โ€” over ยฃ2000 in emergency vet bills. Before leaving our dogs, we made the kennel staff aware of a few important needs: โ€ข Our youngest dog occasionally wets his bedding overnight. We were told that bedding would be checked and changed daily if necessary. โ€ข We requested no toys be given, as both dogs chew and swallow them, which can cause serious illness. โ€ข We also provided enough dental chews (5 sticks for 4 days) and asked that each dog be given half a stick daily. Despite these clear instructions: โ€ข When we collected the dogs in the evening (after there had been more than enough time for bedding to be checked), we found their bedding completely saturated with urine. Both dogs smelled strongly of urine, suggesting they had been left to sit in it. โ€ข Their crate was full of chewed-up toy pieces, even though we had explicitly stated that toys were not to be given under any circumstances. โ€ข Only 2 out of 5 dental chews had been used, despite our specific feeding instructions. Even more alarming was the condition of our dogs upon return: โ€ข Both were severely lethargic and completely unlike their usual selves. โ€ข They were extremely dehydrated, drinking a full large bowl of water as soon as we got home. โ€ข Within hours, both dogs began projectile vomiting and having diarrhoea, which has continued for days. โ€ข Our older dog couldnโ€™t even keep water down, leading us to rush them to the emergency vet. This has resulted in a distressing experience and significant vet costs. The most disappointing part of all this is that the owner, despite being in the office, never spoke to us directly โ€” even after multiple assurances that they would get in touch. Instead, they delegated communication to staff, which felt like an avoidance of responsibility rather than sincere concern. We were eventually issued a refund for the kennel stay, but no personal apology or meaningful communication from the owner ever came. While the staff were kind, we cannot overlook the neglect that occurred. It put our dogsโ€™ health in serious jeopardy, caused them visible distress, and left us with hefty vet bills and a lot of worry. We will not be returning, and we urge other pet owners to exercise extreme caution. No matter how friendly the staff may seem, the wellbeing of your pets must come first โ€” and in our case, that simply didnโ€™t happen.

    I have used cedar farm a few times to board my small animals whilst away on holiday. The care they have always recieved from there has been great. On this last visit my rabbit needed a trip to the vets and medication to be given following the appointment. They kept me informed and updated on how he was doing and I was exceptionally greatful that they took him to the vets. The fact they have done this shows they truly care about the animals in their care. I am very grateful for the care and treatment that he received and will definitely use again in the future.     Clean and clearly look after the boarding dogs as my dog came out happy not badly priced either for 4 days care, will be using them again.

    Staff is super kind, rates are fairly standard (for cats at least). Although the living conditions for the cats is slightly questionable. They have a small area to move around and there is a loud droning noise in the room where they all are ( I do not know if it is always like this, but if it is I'm sure it would annoy the cats). Enjoy some pictures of my cat, Frank, when he arrived for the first time. Some advice for the business: offer an option to update the owner of the cat or dog with what the pet is up to; for example i miss my cat and would like to know what he's up to once every few days so I don't get worried. I don't know if they have this already, but if they do it wasn't obvious to ask for it.

    My little lady stayed for 2 weeks with the staff at Cedar farm this is her 2nd visit. Will I be taking her again? MOST DEFINITELY 100%. she comes home all bathed with her bedding blankets etc all freshly washed.

    Friendly, helpful staff who are very knowledgeable in the health and needs of cats, dogs and small animals. They ensure that all relevant vaccinations have and will happily administer medication and adhere to special/particular diets. They encourage opportunities to view facilities if you have never been before and the animal enclosures look spacious and clean. The good they provide is high quality. Our rabbit had a variety of greens as well as a good quality food (not muesli) and a plentiful supply of hay and water. A good price for small animal (rabbit) housing and I will definitely be using them again. A fantastic animal hotel.

    We have taken our golden retriever puppy aged 7 months here three times so far, including an overnight stay, and been impressed by the attentive professional and loving staff members. They are consistent and helpful and our puppy is at ease there. The place is 5 star for a reason. A lovely family run business, and the kennels are spotless. Highly recommended to us, and we now also highly recommend them too. Thank you all for caring for our fur baby!
