Everyone is really lovely they take care of the dogs amazing even when they are scared or if they have never been before, wonderful staff, never had any bad experiences
Visited today as we couldn’t get booked in with our usual lady. After being recommended this place, we thought we would give it a go. I’m not best pleased with the groom on my 1 year old Pup. It cost £45 in total and he looks like a totally different dog. There is a certain way that you still this breeds face and it was not done like that at all. I appreciate it’s very hard to get right but it doesn’t look even remotely attempted. There are lots of stray hairs in random places on his body that have been missed or not cut properly. I don’t believe he’s been bathed either because he had been for a muddy walk before this groom as we knew he was getting bathed and I have found dried up mud stains on those stray hairs. I don’t believe his nails have been cut either. For £45 I expected a lot more, it’s not worth complaining as we wouldn’t have been coming back as this was only temporary. I would’ve liked to say that we would be using this place if we need somewhere again but we 100% won’t be. I’ve been reading these reviews which I stupidly should’ve done before I booked and now I am really anxious as to how my dog was treated when he was there. I’m not going to say avoid this place because if it works for you then great but for me personally today I just didn’t feel like we got the best experience for my dog. Edit: I have further found mats on his fur. Indicating that he hasn’t been washed or brushed.
My dog can be very clingy and he's not a fan of the groomers. We don't take him as often as we should, and he is usually rocking a bit of matting, and the odd dreadlock! Having said that, The Ladies at the dog house always do a marvellous job, and he always leaves the dog house happy and wanting to show off his new do!
My dog Charlie has been going to the dog house on Cottingham road since it opened. A young lady called Charlie use to groom my dog. I have never had to complain but today I had to ask them to blend his coat a little more it looked like he had been hacked, on his coat he had long bits of hair and bold patches. When I got him home he has got sore patches on his skin which are fresh and totally impossible for him to scratch. I will not be visiting the dog house anymore
**0 STARS** My partner picked up my golden retriever after a full groom was given here - I immediately noticed his eyes were VERY blood shot and severely swollen ( pics below ) he was frighten of us, cowering in the corner and wouldn’t move - which is very unlike him. Nothing was mentioned on collection - when we called to find out what had happened we was advised he ‘doesn’t like the dryer’ and was distressed. We immediately took him to the vets to find out he had bilateral sclera haemorrhage in BOTH eyes and swelling and a corneal ulcer to his right eye. The vet confirmed the most likely cause of this was trauma to the head and eye - or possible strangulation ( been tied too tight around the neck area ) he’s now had 3 trips to the vets, a lot of medication and more to come. Highly recommend you do NOT let your dog anywhere near here. After making a complaint to the groomers - they blamed my dog for ‘biting at the dryer’ which has now been confirmed by the vet NOT to be the cause. Stay away!

After a diabolical experience with 'Wuff and Ready' in Cottingham shaving our 5 month old Cocker Spaniel Pup (which is factual no in pup grooming) and making him look like Joe Exotic, we took our boy to the new 'Dog House' on Cottingham Road and were nothing but friendly, professional and informative. We now have our lad looking like his smart fluffy self again. Couldn't recommend this place enough. Thank you Ladies x
