   A fantastic afternoon walk at Summer Leys Nature Reserve in Northamptonshire! Scenic lakeside trails bursting with water birds, herons, swans, egrets, and even some sheep. A vital conservation haven for wildlife, perfect for birdwatchers and nature lovers. Highly recommended for a peaceful, biodiverse escape.

   Great reserve with plenty of different trails and hides. Abundant bird life too, I saw 46 different species in just under and hour whilst I was here. The paths were a bit wet so if it has rained a lot bring your wellies.

   Nice roughly 2 mile walk with paid parking £4 for 4 hrs. Contactless payment as well or via app. Well looked after and maps everywhere, clear path and no rubbish anywhere. Quite few places you can sit as viewpoint, definitely bring your binoculars and a camera if you're into birdwatching. Definitely worth to revisit with good weather.

   Good place to visit, car park (Pay and display) and site owned by the Cambs/Bed/Northants Wildlife Trust. An easy flat 2 mile walk round the main lake with plenty of spots and several bird hides to view the birds....swans, geese, various colourful duck species, herons, Egrets. There is also a bird feeding station offering close up views of many garden birds. Sometimes the Ranger office is attended and you can get a coffee or hot chocolate.

   There's somewhere to park and a couple of circuits of the lake is just over an hour. Or you could stop at the hides and see some nature. Update 2022. Be warned - 'they' have made the decision to install a ticket machine and charge to park to non-members. A retrograde step for those encouraging public experience of nature. Note the charges are not at a nominal level. Disappointed.
