Big skies await you in this nature reserve! A marshland situated on the south-western flank of the Humber, but with a surprising twist, you first have to go down a steep hill to get to the car park, and yes, this hill can be a corker, especially when walking up it, and down, but it is worth it.

I absolutely loved it! The site is really well-maintained with accessible trails and hides, making it easy to explore and observe the diverse many species. The circular walk is particularly enjoyable, offering panoramic views of the Humber Estuary and the surrounding countryside!

First visit to Alkborough, and what a Fantastic place to go Birding, visited two of the Hides, and from Tower Hide, we spotted a Bittern, in flight and a Roe Deer. Access is good. Would thoroughly recommend.

MR BLOBBY ! ! ! ★★☆☆☆
Absolutely no blocks of flats here at all. Very disappointed after selecting it as my only area of housing on my council form.

Lovely walks around here, great wide views on the tops across the Humber, Ouse and Trent, then closer to the wildlife on the lower paths. Plenty of birdlife to see (wish I'd brought binoculars) on the walks, plus a few bird hides along the way. It can be cold and windy round here so dress for varied weather.

Very peaceful and a lovely walk. There are hides to sit and watch the birds on the water. You can get to it by going down the steep and uneven lane down to the bottom, the car park is enough for six cars and a couple of disabled spots.
