Boarded my chihuahua and my little terrier with Hilbrae twice when I lived in Telford and they were professional. I didn’t expect regular updates as the staff are extremely busy dealing with dogs that have been neglected and badly abused. I look forward to the site developing to house more dogs in need.

We were lucky enough to go and walk some of the rescue dogs yesterday and it was a fantastic way to spend an afternoon. The staff were knowledgeable about all the dogs and you can tell they genuinely care about them too. They gave us a lovely welcome and all of the people there including other volunteer dog walkers were just so friendly. It was such a positive experience. It was heartbreaking to see how many dogs they are having to look after, a real mix of breeds and sizes too - alongside a real mix of other random animals too. We walked 3 different dogs yesterday and I could easily have taken home all 3 if I was able to have a dog at the moment! Paddington was the first we walked and he was a cheeky ball of energy. A joy to spend time with and I understand he is a popular little pup. He had a note saying he had a new home to go to soon, this was not a surprise to us! We walked Scout next who is a classic staffy type - big and beautiful and full of energy but an absolute gently giant. I had a 12 year old with me and Scout was brilliant with him. He is so playful and we loved spending time with him. He is a classic staffy and would be perfect for a home that loves the breed and understands their needs and how brilliant they are. We squeezed one more walk in before we left and that was Bailey - a lurcher type. I wasn't sure what to expect as I am more experienced with staffy types but he won us over and we couldn't believe he hadn't been rehomed already. He was so gentle and well trained and was so fun to run around with. He was great with the 12 year old and we thought he would be such a great addition to someone's family. We can't thank the staff and volunteers enough for making us feel so welcome and for all the hard work they do to look after all these beautiful animals. We will hopefully be back to spend some time here again.

I am really sad to have to be posting this negative review. We had a 9 month old cane corso from hilbrae and unfortunately khoda had a heart attack about 3 weeks after we took him home. He was so beautiful and Became instantly part of our family our other cane corso got on like they were together from pups. We are so sad but understand that these things happen but the lack of compassion from hilbrae has really upset me. The vets phoned them and informed them of khodas passing as we were so upset. I asked them to put a note on their Facebook page for us just saying how sad it was he had passed the kids are always checking and although they said they would they have not. This is really disappointing and breaks our heart and puts me off recommending hilbrae.

Well established dog rescue & boarding centre I had used twice since 2014. I would highly recommend a visit if you looking to rehoming a companion for life... The staff are friendly and helpful too..!!

Absolutely love this place so much. The staff are amazing and the dogs health and happiness is their top priority, the dogs are well cared for well looked after. The staff are strict when comes to walking the dogs but this is a really good thing as shows that they're well being is their top priority. We try to come every fortnight and look forward too it.

It has been our pleasure to rehome two dogs over the last four years from Hilbrae . Peggy from Spain a Pyranean mastiff was a beautifully natured dog and last summer we gave Kai a rottweiler/Staffy Cross a good home. The staff at Hilbrae are helpful, experienced and very enthusiastic about the care they give to all the animals in their facility

Best experience for adopting a new family member. The process was quick. We managed to visit 4 times before taking Leo home 10 days after visiting him. The donation amount for adoption is very reasonable and won't break the bank. They actually want to find good homes for their residences not like most rescues who don't seem to want to re-home theirs. Highly recommend!!!
