My dog came back injured and when I tried to get information out of the lady called kath she became abusive towards me when I went to confront her I could smell alcohol on her breath I would never recommend this salon to anybody.
A Disappointing Experience and Poor Management I initially heard great things about this grooming salon, but unfortunately, my experience has been far from that. While the first grooming session wasn’t ideal, they did rectify it, which I appreciated. However, out of the next three appointments, only one of my two dogs were groomed properly. Despite providing detailed instructions and pictures from my previous groomer after moving, consistency has been a major issue. The final straw came when my dogs were placed with a groomer who has since left. While staff changes happen, what is truly unacceptable is how the business is managed. The owner rarely answers the phone—regardless of how busy the salon may be, an answering machine may just help, simple solution. Text messages are left unanswered for days, and by the time she responds, it feels like an afterthought. Time management and proper staffing are essential in a service-based business, and unfortunately, that seems to be lacking here. What was most frustrating is that after the groomer left, I was not even given my booked time. The owner then made it seem as though I had been placed with that groomer by choice and responded with a vague message suggesting I let her know my availability if I wanted to rebook. It’s disappointing to be treated this way, especially when the mismanagement of staff is not the client’s fault. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be returning. I had high hopes, but the lack of professionalism and poor communication have left me extremely dissatisfied. I would suggest NOT going here as the owner cannot run the business effectivley not just due to the leaving groomer yet the actual day to day seems to overhwhelm her with the basics.
Extremely upset and angry. I have a very small pomeranian that has hip problems when I arrived I stated that he needs his tail shaved due to it matted of which they agreed! They are aware of Walters problems so I thought he would be in good hands. My dog was collected by his dog minder to find that his tail had been brushed out. When Walter was taken home he could not walk or sit down he seemed to be getting worse throughout the night. Jackie rang me up to say Walter I'd in a really bad way to which I went straight to the shop this morning. They explained that his tail was not bad hence why they worked through it what they did mention is that his hole body was matted so they had to brush his hole body out. When talking to them about this they said they was was thinking about just shaving it all off to re grow again but obviously they didn't hence why my dog is in serious pain! My dog is so tiny that his spine would not of been able to cope with this amount of brushing what they should of done is rang me to say we understand Walters spine problems I think it's best we just shave. My boy has had to go yo the vets due to him screaming in pain he can not walk I'm absolutely shocked that they took it upon themselves to brush his hole body out when knowing my boys problems. Never again will he ever go their again! I have asked for video footage !do not take your dog their as they manhandle them let's hope my boy recovers elce their in serious trouble!!!
Fantastic service. Cath did an amazing job of my Labrador puppy’s first groom. She had a great time and came home smelling lovely and looking amazing after her blow dry. The comfort she received from Jarvis the cockerpoo was a fantastic touch.
Two of my boys visit the Pet Retreat grooming salon and I have been very pleased with the way they are treated and exceptionally pleased with the grooming my rough collie receives. I would definitely recommend the salon.
