Sign up at your own risk. Facilities are incredibly unsanitary, changing rooms and showers coated in dirt. I have seen blood in toilet area go uncleaned for days on end. When approached to end contract due to breach of their terms due to the above, I was told the conditions are good enough. I will be paying the remaining months and cutting ties with this place immediately. Dire conditions with customer service to match.

Great gym , equipment is decent . However when something is broke it takes a long time to be fixed . I assume it’s not the staff inside the building fault . Staff are excellent and friendly on most parts .

I just moved into the area and joined this gym as it's local to me. I was previously a member of Everlast in Macclesfield and prior to that a leisure centre in London. I don't understand why all the negative reviews. A gym is what you make it and you really cannot complain for Β£30/month (I paid up a full year in advance). Ok, it maybe not the biggest or best gym in the world but it's way better than most of the gyms I've belonged to previously. If you do complain, go join a David Lloyd or go try one of the gyms in London...where you'll pay double or triple the price for the same size gym or smaller with even less access to pool and spa facilities. For the woman who complained that she couldn't get a tour of the gym prior to joining....what a load of rubbish. I think people just like to have a whinge about nothing...it's a British passtime afterall. I've not joined a single gym without being able to first inspect the facilities. As for the people who complain about a day pass, that's the going rate for most places. I used Hussle (form. PayAsYouGym) before the pandemic as I was travelling all over the country. I would pay up to Β£20 for a casual visit. In London, I'd often pay up to Β£30 for a casual visit. And a rate like that is designed to encourage you to join up. Peak Times Naturally, if you want to use the gear in the gym alone, you have to go in quieter times (when the majority of members are at work). You can of course, always share equipment during your workout. Pool/Spa Same applies with the pool. Yes, it's small but it's spa facilities are the best in the area...for the price. What gym do you know locally that has a really good steam room, a hot sauna AND a jacuzzi! Again, don't complain if you decide to use the facilities during peak times. You can, and I do use the pool for laps in quieter times. Mid morning or lunch time is usually a good time or immediately after the Aqua class. Of course, you can use the spa facilities during the Aqua class...it's just a bit loud with the music but it only lasts 45 minutes. Regardless of which pool you decide you to use, there will always be kids classes after school and Aqua classes during the day etc. The leisure centre in Congleton is no different. The gym at the leisure centre in Congleton is small compared to this one. And their spa facilities are located at the other end of the building with a door code that changes daily. And they don't have a jacuzzi. Staff As for the staff, not had a problem here. If staff are rude to you, it's probably because they're having a bad hair day so don't take it personally. We're all human right? Tom, who has been staff for many years and also one of the PT's there is just delightful. Tom's rates for PT are also competitive and reasonable. If you wish to invest in your health, having a PT like Tom is a no brainer. Conclusion For the price, this is a good gym. Sure it has it's issues, but what gym doesn't? Like I've said previously, if you want state of the art, go join a David Lloyd and pay quadruple what you pay now. I've been a member of DL in the past too. Meet me Unlike most people on social media, I'm prepared to put my name and photo on my reviews I write so on that note, if you see me at the gym, come and say hi. I'm an Aussie, down to earth and friendly and I love meeting new people. Cheers Nick

Slowly going downhill. Staff are hit and miss, some are rude others are great. Facilities slowly getting more worn and dirty. What takes the absolute biscuit though is that they're now charging Β£20 for a guest pass for one day. It's absolutely outrageous especially considering a months membership comes to Β£35. Need to have new management take over this place before they run it into the ground completely.

Under demolition at present due to an expansion scheme (hope that includes matching pairs of handweights and plates!) No advance notice of this with lots of construction noise and displaced equipment across the two floors.Quite a disorganised gym overall really eg the class booking system is a scrap of paper on the counter and uncertainty when children's swimming classes are on in the pool.

In dire need of a refurb and a deep clean in the pool area too. Alot of members saying how its not had a deep clean for a long time. They will lose members to the new leisure centre when that opens soon. Think Gym Etc are getting a bit to comfortable but members are grumbling more and more. Has a the potential to be a top gym and I would happily pay over Β£40 if it mean a big upgrade in facilities and wet area improvements. Becomes too crowded at peak times too.

Great local gym but needs a bit of a refurb. A wider range of classes would be useful too. Great pool and reasonable membership prices.

Absolutely shocking gym! Half the stuff doesn't walk, no one respects the gym at all and weights are left everywhere and half of them are missing. Was lifting on a platform doing Clean & Jerks (which involves the whole platform) when a PT brought someone onto the back of my platform with the hex bar without asking in the middle of the set. It was dangerous and stupid. Me and my partner will never be returning! Absolutely no respect

You really need to teach your reception staff some manners and customer service skills! Also Β£15 for a day pass or you just have to join! No free session to get a feel for the place like 99% of the other gyms around! Incredibly disappointed!

Awesome gym with helpful and friendly staff. Great pool. Lots of parking and decent air conditioning
