Lovely morning wander in one of my favourite local walks. Great parking, and facilities particularly with Little Cow Shed just over the road for hot drinks and of course their fresh milk vending machine.

It's a nice space, but bewildering to have dogs running loose everywhere in a nature reserve ! Surprisingly few species of water birds , considering the size of the lake. Not really worth visiting as a true nature reserve but nice as a public park.

It's a lovely lake and a nice easy walk around the lake. And it has paths leading off to other walks through the woodland. So you can make your walk as big or small as you like. Lots of nature trails and lots of things the kids can spot along the way. The little cow shed next door to the reserve so you can grab a cuppa. Card only. Oakhanger project's is how I came to know the place through kayaking and canoeing. Which I found through Walk talk action. Which you can also find on Facebook and get involved for people of all ages

As you travel from Sandbach to Congleton you'll pick up the sign for Brereton follow this road until you reach the car park which is on the left hand side. Ample parking that's around £2. Your right next to the lake. Many years ago we use to go swimming here but that's not allowed now. Toilets can be found on sight and there's also a cafe across the road at the cow shed. Dogs are allowed many locals come here for a stroll or a good walk around the lake and in the woods. Very well kepted area and well worth a visit. Ideal if you want have a picnic. Definitely recommend Brereton Heath.

This place is just beautiful. Full of silver birch trees and so many different circular walks. My dog loves it and so do I. A perfect place for an off lead dog walk with lots of friendly doggies around to play with. There is somewhere to get a coffee too but I haven’t tried it yet.

Great place to walk the dogs, there are few routes around the man made lake, there is a path around the lake and various other routes through the woodland, the paths through the woodland can be very muddy in places and not suitable for wheel chairs, but the path around the lake is best for wheelchairs, it can be a little muddy in places but not to bad. There is a paid parking area and toilets near the car park. There are benchs dotted around the lake, and you can picnic at the various open spaces around the lake. Signs around the site tell you about the wildlife and ongoing conservation work that is going on there. There are plenty of dog poop bins around the site. You can get drinks and snacks across the road from the car park entrance. This place can be very busy at weekends, with loads of dogs, so be wary if your dog is jump up, type of dog or not good around other dogs, a dog lead is advised, but the dog owners at time of visit kept thier dogs under control so no problems. Great place for children to visit as well. Just be aware that the lake is not fenced off, so keep an eye on the younger children as you go around the lake. There is a place near the car park were the children can go down to the lake and feed the ducks and easy access for the dogs to go and swim in the lake. There is a Bridle path that skirts around the site as well.

Beautiful location, with a pleasant and easy 1 mile walk around the pool/lake, along with great facilities, including toilets and food outlet 'The little cow shed' serving various drinks, ice cream and sweet treats.

What a lovely place to visit for a walk as you can walk in the woods and then walk round the lake. The paths are great for buggies as there is plenty of room, fabulous views of the lake & green areas around with benches to sit on. Plenty of car parking spaces for a small charge of £1 or £2 depending how long you stay. Toilets are available and you can get drinks there. There is also a cafe across the road which sells cakes, ice creams and milk. It's enjoyable for pets and all ages, definitely worth a visit.

Lovely place for a Potter round :) Great if you have small children , buggies or a wheelchair as the main path round is easy going. Lots and lots of dogs so maybe don't go if you're not a fan of dogs ! Bonus now is the cow shed across the road selling milkshakes via vending machines , cake and coffees. Ice cream van was there last weekend for crazy children like mine who wanted an ice cream in the freezing cold weather :) They also do a nice cuppa tea if you're not a coffee fan. Main path probably only took about 20 mins but you can veer off in to the trees and follow other routes or just wander randomly.
