Hi Guys fab place to visit. Just a bit of a problem. The car parking meter has a mind of its own. Sorry we are not top tech and do not use apps or on line bank etc. we always pay with cash or card. This time it accepted payment issued a receipt for £3.00 and no parking ticket. I along with a few others were well and truly done over. Reluctant to park just in case I received a ticket. The council now closed for Christmas be aware

A Perfect Day Out at Westport Lake & Trentham Gardens Took advantage of the sunshine and spent a gorgeous day walking around Westport Lake and Trentham Gardens — both absolutely stunning spots for a relaxing stroll. The views around the water are beautiful, with plenty of wide, open paths and peaceful woodland trails. Enzo, our Chow Chow, had the time of his life! He loved exploring all the different scents, climbing onto tree stumps like a king surveying his land, and stopping every few steps for compliments from passers-by (he doesn’t mind the attention). Plenty of photo opportunities too — it’s a dog walker’s dream. The sculpture walk at Trentham adds something a bit different, and there are plenty of spots to sit and just take in the surroundings. It’s clean, well-maintained, and perfect for families, couples, or anyone wanting to unwind outdoors. Highly recommended for dog lovers and nature fans alike — we’ll definitely be back!

We come here regularly for an evening walk and to get my little lad out the house. It's got two lovely lakes to walk around and a great park. Multiple climbing frames, slides and it even has an accessible see-saw for wheelchair users. Parking is cheap.

A pleasant setting despite being in the city, and the fact that it sits alongside the mainline railway and the A500. Takes about 20-30 mins to walk around depending on your pace, but I wouldn't rush because it's so peaceful. Has a visitor's center and a large (free!!) Car park. Easily accessible from the canal.

Beautiful lake, there's a cafe where you can choose to sit in or outside on the balcony. There are bikes for hire or ride your own round the lake, there are nature walks and you can buy bird food to feed the birds. You can walk round the lake or along the Cannal. There are swings for the little ones and an ice-cream van on a weekend in the summer. The free car park can get pretty full on a nice weekend.

I've spent many happy hours here as a child when the venue opened in the early 70's, then it was a fun kids play area where you could jump off the jetty into the water and tons of sand was brought in to make a beach. Those days there seemed little concern for the local wildlife! Nowadays the area is much improved and a very welcome nature sanctuary and reserve, much time and effort has been spent on nurturing the lake park into what it is today. Westport Lake has a large car park but in very busy periods finding a spot may be nigh on impossible. The venue benefits from a large children's playground and a Superb visitor centre. There are many paths around the two lakes mostly on flat ground to enjoy a stroll!
