A fantastic Vekoma 'Madhouse ride' . Hard to believe it's 25 years old, although the recent revamp has been kind to the ride. I am not going to mention the specifics of the ride, as I don't want to spoil it. The first ride is always magical and it is a definitely a ride the whole family can enjoy. Also an excellent local linked theme to the chained oak in Alton.

From the moment one approaches the venerable edifice that houses Hex – The Legend of the Towers, it becomes abundantly clear that this is no ordinary attraction, but rather a meticulously crafted homage to heritage, mystery, and immersive storytelling. Stepping into the queue, I was immediately struck by the seamless blend of narrative and environment — a journey that gently guides the guest through the historic lore of the Towers. With every artefact and whispered legend presented, one cannot help but feel transported into an alternate realm where history breathes and the past speaks. The ride itself is a masterclass in atmospheric engineering. Subtle cues of light and shadow, paired with a richly evocative soundscape, create an ambiance both thrilling and enchanting. This is not merely a ride to be experienced; it is a tale to be lived. The attention to detail — from set design to audio narration — showcases a level of craftsmanship that elevates Hex beyond entertainment into the realm of art. What I found particularly delightful was how the attraction rewards patience and observation. Each viewing reveals new subtleties, hidden gems of storytelling tucked in corners and whispers that encourage repeat visits. It is a testament to the creators’ dedication that one can depart with a sense of having shared a secret with the Towers themselves. In closing, Hex – The Legend of the Towers stands as a shining example of how rides can tell stories that resonate, captivate, and delight. For the discerning visitor who appreciates immersive theming and historical intrigue, this attraction is nothing short of a triumph.

The dark ride of this attraction and the theming of it is so good. The theme is about a local legend. Spoiler alert, I am going to spoil it so you can know it if you want to. There is a bagger poor women in the 15th century, cursing that the branches will fall. One of the family member will die. It is an scary experience and worth to go on it

This is one of those rides that is well worth it if you have fast passes as it does take a decent chunk of time to get through all the rooms. The ride itself made me and the boy really light headed (in a good way) and was one of the rides we actually talked about a lot in the car on the way home.

The Hex ride at Alton towers is a ride that shares the tales behind the story of the legendary old chained oak tree that links to the castle ruins and the earl Shrewsbury. It's a ride located in an area of the castle ruins that you enter in the fountain square area of the theme park. It's a popular ride with many visitors to the park that many do for their interests in the history of the ruins

Didn't like it at all to be honest. Very lengthy story to listen to then you enter a room that spins and it's just pretty disappointing compared to the other rides at Alton towers. Should be changed for something exciting I think.

I absolutely love this ride...it's totally mind-bending and beautifully themed. Riding it at first is really disorientating (just close your eyes if it makes you queasy,) but once you know how it works, you can sit back and enjoy it in all its craziness. Such a simple concept but sooooo fun.

This is my favourite dark ride and one of my top rides at Alton Towers. The combination of the architecture, theming and video/sound/lighting make this an immersive experience, topped off with one of the best themed rides I have ever seen.
