The warmest, most welcoming tattoo studio I’ve ever been to. Places this good are far and few, but I very artist here is a master of their craft. I can’t recommend them enough!
UN1TY’s home on the Severn River is lovely. It’s cosy, it’s sublime, it balances between the two, uncontrived and represents the resident artists well – I’ll admit I always feel a little intimated when I visit. I like that. Shop manager, the Notorious Stig, is a welcoming presence, providing good humour and generous hospitality. Indeed, all the resident artists and the resident dog, Benji, are brilliant. Certainly, I wish I could have come to UN1TY without a circus troupe of old tattoos, so Hanumantra could have had a blank canvas and worked something liberated into my skin. It was quite apparent to me that a Hanumantra tattoo was the only tattoo I had ever needed. The irony, of course, is that it’s precisely because I’ve been tattooed aplenty that I can identify why I appreciate Hanumantra’s skillset. He cares about how the tattoo will coalesce with my body – even personality. He cares about the potential of the tattoo which seems to be the driving force behind what design we create on my skin. Obviously, the work speaks for itself, but I’m grateful for his technique. He has a deft sleight of hand that’s always delicate – his needles never outstay their welcome on my skin. He finds saturation; he moves on. He identifies the most effective ways to access the part of the body he’s working on so that the skin is taut, I’m comfortable, and he’s in control. The cliental experience is well regarded and receives empathy. I don’t take that for granted! On a personal level, he’s grounded, intelligent and charismatic – good company to receive whilst bleeding out. When I look in the mirror and see this immaculate blackwork that harmonises so well with the shape of my body, reconciles with the space that I had given up to ill-thought-out tattoos of my past, and unapologetically exhibits itself as exactly what it is; I have Hanumantra to thank. Had a really great experience being tattooed here today. Really easy location to get to - carpark located nearby with a short walk over the bridge to the studio. Everyone there is super friendly and makes you feel at home. The studio looks has a really comforting atmosphere. The decor is fantastic - can you decorate my home please? I had a day session with Aaron Breeze, he went above and beyond to make sure the tattoos were perfect - even drew up a new design on the day for me. Really put me at ease and checked in regularly with me to make sure I was okay and if I needed any breaks. I am totally obsessed over my new tattoos they look fantastic! I will definitely be coming back. :) Thanks
I had such a wonderful experience at Un1ty in Shrewsbury. I felt so much at home in Jo’s cute studio where I was warmly welcomed by their doggy. The familiar sandalwood stick scent next to Shree Ganesha ( Hindu God with an elephant’s head) on the shelf was so comforting to me. It all started 3 years ago when I came across Jo’s Instagram account. I am so happy that I could finally make this trip, Jo turned my horrible scars into a beautiful peacock. It’s not over yet and I am looking forward to my next sessions and can’t wait to see Jo again and revisit the beautiful Shrewsbury.

You go for a tatoo and you discover wonderful people ! Ultra clean studio, very cosy and a warm atmosphere. All the staff at Un1ty is dedicated for you to have the best tatoo experience. I came from France especially for Un1ty and Hanumantra and I will never go to an other place for a tatoo. It was started last week and I am already in the process of booking more days. Cannot wait to see you again friends !
I was a tattoo virgin before going to Unity. The whole team and Benji made me feel completely at ease. From the moment I got there the experience has been surreal but amazing. Jo and I spent time discussing my options she was extremely helpful and kind. So far I have had three sessions and it looks fantastic, I can’t wait to see end results. Thank you so much !!!!
Definitely the best experience booking a tattoo, and a very organised system. Lovely, warm, professional shop with an excellent atmosphere. I love the working hours and there is no time-wasting. Hanumantra is a genius working with large scale pieces and, given that I travel from Norway, he is will worth the trip
I have been working Jo at Un1ty since 2019. It’s the best Tattoo studio I have ever worked with. Jo’s approach is phenomenal - she listened to all the elements I wanted and we then worked to create a shared vision for the piece incorporating both our ideas. She considered practical things I had no experience of including body fit, ageing and healing, how it could be extended and added to while it working as a completed piece. The days being tattooed are a joy - super relaxed atmosphere, great environment, loads of fun with the artists and no pressure. Aftercare is second to non (email support, texts, photos etc for any queries). Vicky is always on hand to sort bookings and schedules as well keeping everything running smoothly. I walked in expecting to do a piece that would take 3/4 days. We are now over 20 and hope to finish the project next year! Check out the insta pages for Matt, Jo and Un1ty to see the quality of work.
