Had a great meal at zizzis today. The food was amazing and all of the staff were fabulous! Specifically isha was just a joy to be with. She was our server and could not have made us feel more welcomed. She recommended food options and was just so funny and charismatic. Such a lovely girl! ❤️

Waited respectfully at the entrance to be shown to a table. A tall woman with a ‘top knot’ type hairstyle was incredibly rude to me. When asking where I was from. I replied London & she said, “oh noooo, I can’t stand Londoners” she said she worked in media, & then she looked down her nose at me. Some welcome! We were seated at a tiny table, not where we asked to sit. Then came the waitress. We ordered drinks & asked for a few minutes to look at the menu. After 15 minutes, I asked her where the drinks were & she snapped ‘they’re coming’. Eventually they arrived. I politely asked for the cutlery to be changed as the first set was dirty. The second set was badly water marked. We ordered starters. The wrong order was placed in from of us. I asked, ‘what’s this?’ as it wasn’t what we’d expected. My partner who was now very hungry, had started to eat a piece of the garlic bread, when it was all whisked away & put in front of another couple a couple of tables away from ours. The people continued to eat it, unaware they weren’t getting a full, fresh, untouched portion. Still nobody came to take our dinner order, but as 4 staff were standing by the bar, I got up & asked them if I may order. A short blonde woman seemed rather angry that I’d asked her, & abruptly ‘sent’ me back to the tiny dining table. (We’d already struggled our way through our late starters, moving the dishes & wine cooler around to fit everything on it). Our dinner was served & tasted nice. My partner had pizza on a long plate & I had the new hot honey duck. The table was uncomfortable. The waitress came & took our plates, even though I hadn’t quite finished mine! She took what remained of my meal with my partners plate & asked if we wanted desert. I said no thank you. She wasn’t happy we didn’t give a tip! My partner had sat through the meal facing a hideous pile of dirty plates… probably the worst experience ever in a branch of Zizzi. It wasn’t right at all but I was too scared to complain in case one of them turned even nastier on us. The staff were horribly sloppy, unnecessarily rude & simply unkind. Not impressed, & we’d paid almost £100… it was just brutal & completely awful.

This was, without exaggeration, the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. As a restaurant owner myself, I understand how painful negative reviews can be, which is exactly why I avoid writing them unless an experience is truly appalling. Unfortunately, my visit to your restaurant yesterday at around 4–4:30pm—my first and certainly my last—left me no choice. I came with two friends, and we were seated near the kitchen. We ordered three Carbonaras and a few sides. The dishes arrived quickly, which at first seemed impressive, but everything went downhill from the moment the plates touched the table. All three of us stared at each other because the portions were shockingly small—comically small. Even in the attached picture, after only one small bite taken, you can still see how tiny the portion was. We regularly dine at Zizzi in Birmingham, and the portion served here was, at best, half of what we usually receive. Still, we decided to give it a chance. The real issue appeared with the first bite. The noodles were unmistakably undercooked—hard, doughy, and nowhere near al dente. My friend who is pregnant stopped immediately, and we called the waitress over to return the dishes due to both the portion size and the raw texture of the noodles. What happened next was astonishing. A different waitress returned less than two minutes later with our plates and an attitude so combative it took us by surprise. She repeatedly insisted, in a dismissive and almost hostile tone, that “this is how the noodles are supposed to be” and that “these noodles can’t be cooked any longer.” This is ridiculous. If you went to a steakhouse, ordered medium, and the server told you the steak could only be cooked rare, would that be acceptable? We politely asked for the noodles to be cooked a bit longer—if it ended up overcooked, that would be on us. But she flat-out refused, insisting that this was the maximum level of doneness possible. She then tried to justify it by claiming that Zizzi “changed their menu two weeks ago” and that the Carbonara is now made with egg noodles instead of pasta. Even if that were true, it does not magically excuse the fact that the noodles were raw inside. As shown in the picture, the noodle strands were translucent on the outside and white, dense, and doughy in the centre. As a chef myself, I know exactly what cooked noodles should look like—this wasn’t it. We reluctantly took the plates back, tried a second bite, and still couldn’t eat them. We asked the other (actually pleasant) waitress to take the plates away. The rude waitress then returned again, loudly talking to the chef—clearly for us to hear—“Chef, guests are complaining the noodles are undercooked,” before proudly presented us with a strand of raw noodles like she was unveiling a scientific breakthrough. I still don’t know what point she thought she was proving. To make matters worse, we later noticed the table next to us barely touched their Carbonara either. We finished our sides, paid, and left deeply disappointed—not just by the food, but by the complete refusal to acknowledge or fix a very simple issue. All of this could have been resolved effortlessly by remaking the dishes with the noodles cooked slightly longer. Instead, we were met with hostility, inflexibility, and zero accountability from one particular waitress. Every other staff member was polite and professional, which makes her behaviour even more glaring. One final note: I’m not sure what your uniform policy is, but while every other staff member was dressed appropriately, this same waitress was wearing her uniform rolled up like a crop top with her back exposed. Unique fashion choice for a restaurant of your claimed calibre. I’m writing this so you’re aware of what’s happening in your establishment. We will not be returning.

Saturday lunch for 8 of us, food was great and service quick but the star of the day was Ruby our waitress she was very attentive, friendly and fun, thanks for making it an enjoyable experience for us all.

Extremely busy on a Saturday lunchtime but the lady on the entrance kept everyone informed and offered a very warm welcome well done Ruby. She asked about food allergies of which this establishment take very seriously I am allergic to truffles and this restaurant use them on numerous dishes she assured me my food would not come into contact with any contamination very professional. We both had the lasagna which I maxed out and have to say it was truly delicious and most enjoyable. Passed on desserts Service very swift considering how busy they were great value for money and entertaining atmosphere well done Zizzi and thanks Ruby.

I had a voucher so thought I would use it. Only been here twice and twice they didn't have salmon which my mum fancied. I had belly pork (£15.99) which was going to come with new potatoes but they gave me fries instead as they didn't have new potatoes. The fries were very good actually, however it was a small piece of belly pork although tasted really good but only a few carrots and broccoli. I came here earlier on in the year and had meat balls which I got quite a large portion. However overall the food is good, I had king prawn skewer for my starter, chocolate pudding for my dessert. Nice and friendly customer service, some dishes quite a good price some others quite expensive. I'll definitely go again and will pick something else. Not happy as they do a three course meal for £23.95 but I was unaware of this, didn't notice it on there menu either and no waiters told us, so because of this I'm going to downgrade it to three stars overall now. Even though we had a voucher for £49 I still had to pay £27. So very expensive actually.

I have ordered as a side broccoli, asparagus and spinach and the plate contained 2 pieces of broccoli and 3 leaves of spinach, then I told them about the plate and the fact that the asparagus is missing and they brought me another plate 10 minutes later after I have finished my main, but not only that, the broccoli wasn’t so soft as it should be and I had to return it back because I couldn’t it it. After we finished the meal, we had to finish our bottle of wine, but we had to stay with the plates on the table until we left. Very disappointed and I will definitely won’t go another time.

Nice restaurant. Some good options, but could do with more vegan options as there's isn't many. The lasagne was good but you have to get sides separate. The sea bass was nice and the garlic bread was good

Ample Seating for Couples and Families. The service was initially tad slow but then once we were attended to things moved on very quickly. The menu is mouth watering with a good range of sides and main dishes Nice bar with an assortment of wines beers and cocktails The tables are tad small for couples if you are ordering a large meal Good range of Vegan options. The pizzas are humungous. Good value for money The customer service is excellent but could be a bit slow depending on the number of staff available. Worth a visit if you are in the mall.

Stopped at Zizzi's in meadowhall for tea and with no reservations we managed to get a table for 6. Shortly after we arrived it did get busier though. The service was quick and the staff were polite. The food was really nice had good portion sizes, not too big or small. The atmosphere was nice and didn't feel too overcrowded or loud even though they were nearly full. I would recommend this restaurant, it is easily one of my favourite resturant chains.
