Fukuoka tries hard and certainly adds to the cultural richness of Shirley High Street but in the end only "good" not excellent. They do the best with slightly inadequate premises and the service is lovely if rushed with only one person both front if house and washing up. The food itself was interesting but gentle in flavour and just OK.
Really great establishment, the food was amazing and is really good value for money. Service was excellent and would definitely recommend this place. Tasty food and great portion sizes
The best Japanese restaurant in Birmingham. Small number of tables so very personal service. Good selection of food on the menu from sushi to hot dishes. Remember that they do not take credit cards, cash only.
Brilliant Restaurant with great food. It’s honestly so much better than mainstream chain restaurants like Wagamama. Plenty of vegan options which was great! Tempura fried vegetables were great!!! Highly recommend it for taste and quality of the food.
A really nice little authentic Japanese restaurant. A great variety on the menu. Every dish we ordered was really tasty. Very pleased. I think the service could have perhaps been a little more attentive. Wasn't wrong or bad. It was really good, but it was missing a little of the wow to get 5. Especially when I had to walk all the way to the petrol station as they only take cash... I would definitely go again and there is plenty to try on the menu, so no real complaints, just don't like when establishments avoid card payments and want cash.
Everything was amazing, I started picking things at random that I had never tried. I will be back, can anyone recommend a random dish to try I will add it to my review. The Japan's recipe for the beer is great, even if it is made in Wolverhampton, well if you want fresh food and beer we can really wait for it to be delivered from Japan. Again amazing.
Possibly my favourite Japanese restaurant in Birmingham. The interior is small but fits the ascetic well and is decorated beautifully. The food here is delicous and Ive never eaten anything bad in the many times Ive been here. The staff are hard working and helpful and the range of drinks available is great. Menu is reasonably priced, only minor downside is that they are cash only but there's cashpoints close to the restaurant. Highly recommend if you find yourself in or around the Shirley area
Excellent food and service. Lovely little place with a wide selection of Japanese dishes. We took fired tofu as starter and then bentos. I took the eel, my wife salmon, our friend chicken and my daughter, who isat is vegetarian, the tofu. They were all great and nice to see. Be aware that payment is only cash but there is an HSBC 100 meters away.
Lovely quiet little place. Definitely a hidden gem. Food was really good and service was extremely quick. Will definitely be going back.
