We had regular haddock & chips with mushy peas. For afters, we had a traditional baked apple crumble with thick hot custard, washed down with a nice cuppa. Absolutely delicious. We definitely come back. The staff were so friendly without being over bearing. I highly recommend Whitby's. The best Fish & Chips in my humble opinion.

This place is a real gem. The cod & chips was perfectly cooked and the sticky toffee pudding was amazing. Service was quick and very friendly. Incredibly good value, I’ll be back again when next in the area.

Chips perfect and fresh, done in beef dripping. Fish perfect. Remember to add some scraps to your mushy peas. Salt and Vinegar your own food; Tip salt n Vinegar on top then close and flip box to salt n Vinegar underneath also.

We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere — both were lovely. The place had a warm, welcoming vibe, and there were a few friendly, chatty waitresses around, which made for a pleasant experience. I was happy to return their smiles. Unfortunately, the waitress serving our table didn’t quite share the same energy. She seemed a bit grumpy. After our meal, the bill was brought to the table, but we ended up waiting another 20 minutes, only to find out we were meant to pay at the till on the way out. I’m not a mind reader — a little heads-up would’ve been appreciated!

Dropped in and despite being busy we were seated quickly. Good old fish n chips and tasted better than your local chippy. Washed down with a pot of tea. Yummy. Little one had Cod bites, and they were delicious too a good sized kid portion. I'll be back.

First visit whilst in the area for work. I have to say it was some of the best fish and chips I've ever had, lovely crisp melt in the mouth batter and the mushy peas were amazing. Really friendly staff, and didn't mind that we were in our work boots and coveralls. I would highly recommend eating here.

Whenever I am back in the UK I’m visiting family I always try and come here for a taste of home. Simply delicious fish and chips served by attentive staff and and very coeliac friendly. Gluten-free fish and chips served with gluten-free vinegar and gluten free Peroni and I can’t tell the difference from the normal options (diagnosed at 38 so I know!). NL: authentieke Britse fish and chips met glutenvrije opties!
