My partner and I came here for our anniversary and had a wonderful time! The food was beautiful, the team are friendly, polite and attentive. The restaurant is nicely decorated and very clean! Superb experience. Will come again!! :)

Ordered beef teriyaki bento, and it was good overall. Good portion, well grilled tender beef, and good selection of tempura.

They seem to be more concerned with takeaway customers rather than those dining at the restaurant. It felt hectic and there was a constant stream of delivery drivers picking up orders, which also lead to the seats near the door being uncomfortably cold and drafty. We had to wait 1.5hrs for our mains. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t the best. The soft shell crab was too oily and the quite expensive black cod roll had barely any fish, it was mostly lettuce. The nigiri was nice and fresh, but overall it still felt pricey for what you’re getting. The waitress did apologise for the wait, but as it was Valentine’s evening, offering a complimentary drink or a small dessert to make up for the long wait / lack of service would have helped. Maybe it’s better on other days, but clearly the management took on too much and this was at the expense of dine in customers, so we won’t be returning.

Very good Japanese restaurant. The tuna rolls were delicious and so was the rest of the food. The place could use a bit of softer lights and music to give it a bit of atmosphere. Service was good.

Great spot for some Japanese food. The menu is quite extensive, and food is nice and fresh. The staff is kind and attentive, and every time we come here we are very pleased with our experience. I’d recommend getting king’s or queen’s speciality oven baked rolls Booking in advance isn’t necessary, we managed to get a table for 2 every time

Editing review back to 5 star, after consistently delicious take away. I used to be a fan of Hashi, then the quality of food dropped. I haven’t ordered anything for over a year until recently, to be pleasantly surprised. I’ve now had a great experience 3 times in a row and can say Crunch and Hoshi maki are great again, Nasu Dengaku is the best grilled aubergine I’ve tried, salmon Tataki is delicious too. Everything tastes really fresh. Please keep it up!

Excellent food. Busy so need to book in advance. Have a very active takeaway service so food may take some time to arrive. Staff very helpful.

Food was amazing, simply amazing! I'm very particular when it comes to sushi, and Hoshi has become a local favourite. The service is really well done, and the staff know what they are doing. If you are looking for a real authentic restaurant experience and in the Mitcham/Richmond area then as a local I can tell you this is it.

Edited April 2019. Came here again recently for lunch and ordered sushi and rolls. Not as good as it's been before. The rice was quite compacted, not the right texture, and the fish not as flavoursome as usual. Hope it was just a one off. Original review 2018: Consistently fantastic, we've been coming here for years. Beautifully prepared and presented, delicious Japanese food. The agadashi black cod and the Hashi roll are among our favourites. Service is superb too. Probably the best Japanese restaurant in southwest London.
