Enjoyed an authentic Japanese experience with food that was as delicious as expected. We tried the mixed tempura that had a soft and light batter. The miso marinated black cod was as delicate as it was tender. The chicken udon had a deliciously fragrant broth that was easy to finish. The service was friendly and efficient while having a personal touch. Would like to sample more so will have to come back for another round.

Donabe (previously known as Hannah) is an absolute gem, and its location is a huge plus. It's a short, pleasant walk from the South Bank and the London Eye, making it a perfect spot for a pre-theatre dinner or a special night out after seeing the sights. The atmosphere inside is outstanding – it’s stylish and modern yet warm and inviting, with a really great buzz and energy. And the food? Exceptional. The undeniable star was the black cod. It was so soft and buttery it melted in the mouth, and the sauce was a sublime, flavour-packed combo that took it to the next level. We also loved the crab and salmon roe donabe, along with eel rice. Each dish was a delight for both the eyes and the taste buds. We finished with the Swiss roll and black tea ice cream, and the desserts were a highlight in themselves. I can confidently say the Swiss roll is the best I've had in London. A fantastic dining experience from start to finish, with wonderful food, great service, and a brilliant location. I can't wait to come back.

Decided to give this place a go after seeing a couple of IG posts and i’d say the food certainly did not disappoint- ordered the fatty tuna, salmon & avocado and eel rolls to start with, with clay pot rice to share among our party - eel, crab & salmon fish roe and the egg & chicken one. They’re all made fresh (hence 25 min wait) and came steaming hot, good portions and the highlight is definitely the crab & fish roe one with the crab meat mixed with the rice. The main can be ordered either on their own or with miso soup and pickles included. For the desserts we went for the daifuku mochi with strawberry, matcha cake, Swiss roll and the black tea ice cream (though the portion was rather small actually) and the tea included were really nice especially the yuzu matcha which was refreshing. Though the service is attentive unfortunately there were a few issues with our meal - first of all, one order of the eel clay pot rice was missed off till we reminded the staff that we were still waiting for one more order ; secondly upon checking the bill, we realised that this grilled black cod was included (which we did order) but never arrived, and the staff asked us for photos as proof we did not receive that order, hence the service rating was knocked off a bit though the food was definitely worth 5*

Amazing Japanese spot! The claypot rice dishes were absolutely delicious — the grilled eel was tender with a perfect glaze, and the beef pot with soft egg and veggies was super flavorful. The presentation was beautiful and the open kitchen added a nice touch. Cozy atmosphere, attentive staff. Highly recommend — definitely coming back!

Hannah offers and amazing dining experience. We got the 11 courses tasting menu, very recommended. The combination of flavours and ingredients is incredible and the staff explain each dish, which is helpful. They are extremely nice too. The atmosphere in the restaurant is relaxing and cozy. Highly recommended

Went for lunch bento set. It was absolutely amazing. Portion was quite generous too for such high quality Japanese. The grilled chicken was perfectly made. We also ordered the lobster tempura - really fresh lobster, full of flavour, again perfectly made. Highly recommend and I'll be back soon. This is 5*+ place ❤️

Visited here a couple of years ago but I believe they changed their menu now. I appreciate they still decided to serve us when they were about to close. Excellent service and food. I would definitely recommend.

This might be the best restaurant I've ever been to that doesn't have a michelin star yet. The chef and his team have created an intriguing menu using Japanese concepts, Japanese and local British ingredients, and also local ceramic products that come together for an incredible multi-sensory experience. The food is excellent and well worth traveling for.

Starter is the best! Wagyu and sashimi is of good quality too! However, the quality of sea urchin and crab is not of top quality but understandable for its price. Overall, it is a great meal! Chef is skilled and creative. I like the way the chef use herbs and plants. I would definitely recommend it!
