The 4 stars for atmosphere isn't bad. It's small and quiet. So perfect if that's your thing. The food is spectacular. The staff are a delight. Wonderful.
This was great, it too my friend for her birthday the food and service was great and the price was reasonable. Looking forward to going back, it's a very neat space.
Unbelievable. Spicy tuna sushi was among the best I’ve had. The miso soup was Devine. The aubergine was sensational and the main dishes and other sides were freshly made to perfection. Can’t want to come back. New favorite London lunch spot
I ordered the Gyu (beef) Don to takeaway. The staff took my order by the entrance, and they will shout out when the food is ready. It took me less than 10 mins to get my food. It was really good price, £8.9 with a miso soup too. It is a bargain in such a prime location. However, the sauce is a bit salty for my taste. There was quite good amount of beef, it would be even better if there was more rice. For a meal under £10, I highly recommend.
This definitely ranks as one of my favourite Japanese restaurants in London. Really nice choice of good quality food. We had a variety of dishes. Bit pricey but it is Central London. Service was spot on, friendly and helpful. Overall atmosphere was quite intimate and cosy. Will certainly be returning for a second visit.
Stumbled across Nala and what a great find for superb quality sushi. Small upstairs seating area but there is a downstairs as well. Friendly welcome and everything freshly prepared to order. Tried the Genmai tea and small hot sake to drink. To eat, I had the Takoyaki which was piping hot and melt in your mouth (no chewy octopus in sight) with spicy salmon, fatty tuna with spring onion and tried the snow crab and flying fish roe gunkan. Tons of flavour, perfect temperature of the rice and well balanced flavours. Can’t recommend enough for quality sushi that’s well priced. Happy Eating! Olly
Lovely food, good ingredients, reasonable price! My suggestion is only about the costumer service that could be a bit more attent to the details. The guy didn't speak English well which was quite frustrating because I ordered a miss soup and he said that was coming with my dish and by the end it didn't come. Then when he came to clean our table he grab my glass of wine which I haven't finished. I would come back and I would suggest this place.
I found this place by chance and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised! The atmophere reminds of Izakaya (wood all around). There is a ground and underground floor (where the toilet is). There were japanese customers so when I got in I thought I could expect something good and so it was! I had the Unaju (rice with eel on top). At first I thought the portion of eel was not enough but when I started eating I realize it was fine! A shame that the rice was not the proper japanese one. My friends had curry, tendon (tempura on rice) and a korean dish (yes, there are a few korean dishes as well). My Unaju was quite cheap, only £19, since it is an expensive dish even in Japan. The one I had in Tokyo cost around 2,800 yen (£17 with today's change rate), but in the countryside might be cheaper! I want to come again to try other dishes!
A tranquil oasis in a busy area of central London. It feels like you've stepped into a serene 食堂 serving authentic Japanese food with high quality fish and ingredients. The service is polite and impeccable, as you'd expect in Japan. You can normally get a table from walking in (both times I've been have been walk-ins) but they have a small portion of tables that can be reserved. Delicious, simple and always a lovely experience!
Such a surprising experience. Small restaurant that caught our attention randomly, but it was worth the shot. The atmosphere inside is very peaceful and cozy. You will enjoy a calm and relaxing environment, despite being in central London. Staff speaks fully Japanese, which adds an authentic touch to the experience. We tried their special Pumpkin croquettes and it was fantastic. Portion size are good enough for you to enjoy every bite. I got some sushi and they were good portion. My partner got curry, extremely huge size! I wouldn't go for curry usually but this was flavourful. Staff is really detail driven, will make sure your cutlery is well placed and that you need anything such as water, extra miso soup etc. Overall, I can only recommend the place.
