If you are craving for amazing, authentic Japanese food in Liverpool, this would be THE place to go. Been here numerous times and they never disappoint. Sushi, sashimi and hand rolls are a must (for me), always freshly made and enjoyable.
Nice relaxing Japanese restaurant in Liverpool. One of the more Authentic Japanese restaurant with great variety of sushi and drinks. Just a little more on the pricey side but if money is not an issue then this will be the place to go for sushi in Liverpool.
Etsu is always and I mean always, brilliant. I often go by myself and feel very content to special occasions and it fits the brief perfectly. The food is sublime, beautifully prepared and delicious every single time. Staff are lovely and you’re looked after without being imposed upon. Very lucky to have this wonderful restaurant close by.
The food is good and one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants in Liverpool but it is very expensive for what it is. Great if you can afford to eat there but £85 for 2 of us and not a huge amount of food felt pricy in terms of value for money. A shame, this used to be my favourite special treat restaurant.
I came in at about 9pm by myself and was greeted very warmly. The decor is beautiful and the staff were very friendly. I asked the bar person what drink they would recommend after they asked about my choices they suggested an amazing whisky. The food was presented beautiful and was by far one of the best meals I have ever had. I do not come to Liverpool often but I will definitely return here to this amazing location They were celebrating their 15th year of being open and they gave me a free spritzer. I would heavily suggest trying it out.
I am not fish lover, but the meal was very nice. Good discreet service, but very attentive. Dish looks very nice. Price average with the restaurant in the area. They deserve a visit
Best Japanese and Authentic Restaurant in Liverpool. Etsu is located near the business district area of the city centre. Approximately 15 minutes walk from Lime Street Station. I have been to Etsu for a number of years and it’s always the best quality, authentic Japanese food in Liverpool. I haven’t been since before the pandemic started and the restaurant has expanded which was needed because of the previous lack of seating available, the restaurant has plenty of seating now. Firstly, the staff are all super friendly and hospitable. Most of the staff are from Japan and are very kind, a glimpse into what Japanese service and culture is like in Japan. The food tastes great and is very fresh. The soft shell crab and Ebi tempura are great starters and are cooked to perfection. The una-ju or grilled sliced eel is amazing and I highly recommend this dish. If you want to try something unusual or something I’ve only seen at authentic Japanese restaurants then try the Maguro Yakiniku, it is a traditional pan fried Japanese dish which tastes great. Overall, the service was great and the food was fantastic as usual. Despite the menu being pricey, I would highly recommend eating here for the food but also for an authentic Japanese eating experience.
Honestly one of the nicest Japanese restaurants I have ever been too. The staff are lovely and the food tastes amazing. Highly recommended to anyone in the area, but I would advise to book.
Fresh, authentic, delicious. There are few sushi/ Japanese places in Liverpool but Etsu is by far the best. The food is fresh and really good with fast service. They also have a good range of sake. Two things: be patient with some of the waiters as English is not their first language and most important, do order the soft shell crab!
