Arrived at about 2:30 on Sunday - place was quiet. Came here after wanting to come for years for the 100% gluten free food - only to discover after arrival it is under new management and no longer fully gluten free. Service was very slow despite the place being quiet and loads of staff on. When food came it was lukewarm at best - no one came to ask how our food was so we couldn’t voice any concern. After eating, we wanted to pay and leave - no one had come to clear our plates and ask if we wanted dessert or the bill, my partner went to the bar to try and pay the bill and multiple staff members walked past ignoring him - after standing at the dead bar for over 5 minutes he was finally able to pay so we could leave. Such a shame as the place is very big and has so much potential but won’t be returning if the food can’t even be served hot.

We visited this pub for a Friday night dinner while staying in Bakewell for the weekend. Long story short, the food was amazing and we’d highly recommend. We had steak & ale pie, and the sausage & mash. Both meals came out quickly and hot. Both meals were delicious, genuinely couldn’t fault anything that was on our plate. All in all it was a quality pub with friendly staff and good food!

Amazing gluten free food with amazing prices and the most calm, kind and humble staff I’ve ever met. It is definitely worth a visit over here. A lot of people but enough spaces and quiet enough to have a nice conversation. I saw many families and children having the time of their life here. A memory making place in the centre of the country side with amazing views!

Me and my partner absolutely loved our experience at the angel. It started off with a warm cosy atmosphere and welcoming staff. On reach to our table, we were given 2 menus with a wide range of meals. Any questions were answered confidentially not to mention very informative. After we had settled down we got politely asked if we were ready for drinks, after a good look at all the tasty meals we decided and ordered. We received cutlery in time, the food was piping hot, the presentation of the food was immaculate and very tasteful, with a range of flavours on each dish, not to mention big portions!! In between times we were checked on asked if we wanted anymore drinks, showing how attentive the staff were. Once cleared, we were asked if we would like to see the desert menu, which we did. The desert came out quickly, hot and delicious. We discussed after if there was any negative sides to our experience, and honestly, we couldn’t find fault with anything, 10/10! We tipped, and on our way out we had lovely customers greeting us and other services for cold, exhausted walkers (towels, slippers and lovely fires).

We visited the pub on the afternoon of Christmas Eve. Lovely fire and very warm. I ordered the smoked haddock with a side of green vegetables. Other meals ordered were the seafood chowder, fish and chips and the vegetarian pie, The food did take a little time to come, but it was amazing when it came. The food was delicious. Cooked to perfection and very very tasty. We ended the meal with coffee's and the chocolate brownies from the tray bake menu. We Certainly will be returning and will try the chowder on our next visit.

Wow wow wow! Was in the area and a family friend recommended the angel Inn, we managed to book in last minute. I had the lamb off the specials board and my partner had the rump steak (they'd ran out of sirloin). Everything cooked to perfection, lamb pink, so tender, amazing flavours! Partners steak cooked perfectly, nice chunky chips served with it. Pudding we shared the raspberry cheesecake with cream, very tasty! Server's very polite and welcoming. £59 for 2 mains, 1 pudding, a large glass of wine and a beer. Will definitely be back!

Very good quality food. It was cooked to a very high standard and tasted excellent - umfaultable! The glutenfree ale was great. Overall the service was decent but we did receive some sass on occasion, which wasnt necessary!
