Very disappointing chilaquiles. I’ve spent 4 years living in Mexico and my partner is Mexican so we know good chilaquiles when we see them, and these aren’t it sadly. They were too salty, with just one fried egg that didn’t have a runny yolk. No salsa verde until we asked for it, which was a small cold pot of it. Expensive and not worth it sadly.
It was just okay. A lot of the flavour of birria tacos was lost and they tasted quite bland. The consomme was mostly oily, I could not taste any flavour from it. So, I was quite disappointed. The portion was really small, just two tacos and I was still hungry afterwards. However, it was priced quite high, which is unjustified.
With nothing in the pantry at home we decided to head over to Altrincham market for food. Locate a table and table number order at the respective vendors and await delivery of delicious goodies… It’s a great way to dine if you’re in a party as there are loads of options and no bill to split - easy. We chose the two plates off the board - ceviche and tomatoes and the charred mushrooms on white beans. Both dishes were scrummy, fresh, simple and clearly made with love… I have to admit the food was probably the best I’ve eaten in this establishment. The gorge fries were from the adjacent vendor and were also yummy. Eating at the market can be pricy if you choose mains, drinks, pudding and coffee you’re looking at £100 plus for two… However it’s a great experience with shared tables and the clatter of a busy food hall plus when the food is as good as this it’s a treat worth paying for. Lovely
the tacos were really good honestly! very thought out flavors and well presented. my main issue is the price, 3 tacos ( which are SMALL) we’re almost 20£. Felt really pricy for the amount of food you get.
Picos Tacos... Oh, WOW!! Best ever Mexican food I have ever had. The service was lovely, and I love the vibe of the market. Pico's Tacos only looks small, but let me tell you, the food packs a whole lot more than you would expect. I would give it 10 stars if I could.
Absolutely delicious food. Good portion sizes. Incredible flavours. Excellent price!
Wanted to leave a huge shout out to Joe and Chris at Pico's in Alty Market. Not only was our food completely delicious (The beef suadero taco was a highlight) but they went out of their way to accommodate some tricky food intolerances. They adapted the menu especially, so we could eat safely and couldn't have been more delightful or supportive about it. It's a revelation to eat out like that, it's hard to convey what a difference it makes. Thank you so much x
Amazing tacos. Nachos are 10/10 my favourite I’ve ever had. Could happily eat picos every week! Can’t fault staff either very helpful with any questions I had and polite
Awesome tasting tacos! Do yourself a favour and remember to order the dark chocolate orange pot for dessert. Will definitely be ordering again next time we’re in Altrincham
