Just had a Christmas fare meal at the olton tavern a party of 12so we was put in a side room which was fine till it came to the meal then it just seemed as if they forgot about us. The service was especially slow between course's and the food was not very good to say the least the roasted potatoes were so hard nether fork or knife would get in to them .I certainly will not be going back there again

If your looking for something special and festive with a nice meal and good service, then give this place a wide berth.. We had to prompt the staff to serve us after waiting 30 mins for someone to serve. The service between meals was way to slow and the roast potatoes were not edible without breaking your teeth! 10 % reduction was given off the bill.

Visited with my partner for a little date night and we had such a great experience! Our server Becky was so accommodating and kind. Food was lovely too, no complaints from me. Hence the 5 stars!! Thank you Becky, hope to be served by you again!

Went for a Monday lunch last week. We hadn't been for ages. When you're looking for a quality relaxed pub lunch this is a great place to go. It certainly wasn't empty for a Monday with quite a few tables occupied. Bar service was friendly and quick. We sought a table. The have quite a lot with high stools which I don't get on with but we found a "normal" table easily enough. I had the scampi and chips and he had the ultimate burger. The food was cooked well and was fresh tasting. We did however swap chips because I like the skinny ones and he the fat ones. We both ordered sauces, I had the peppercorn for dipping chips into and he had the chicken gravy which was slightly thicker than he expected. The staff were cheerful and efficient and we will be going back again to taste more on their menu. Just as an aside, be careful when parking. We were unaware that you have to pay for parking there, the signage isn't really in your face and we got a £100 fine. However, after talking to the pub we can take the fine notice and our receipt back to them and they will sort it. They were apologetic and really helpful.

We are a group of 16 Bowlers and we were able to use the separate room, which suited us. This was our Christmas get together, we had the festive lunch buffet, which was a good selection of food. Sadly the breaded mushrooms and fish goujons were overcooked. But everything else was very tasty. The one thing that would have made it easier would have been to have the buffet in the room, and also to have a dessert included. We could have had a coffee/tea as an extra with a mincepie, but no pies were available!

A group of 32 of us booked for dinner a couple weeks ago & it was catered for so well. We were able to go in the afternoon to put up banners, balloons etc & we were allowed to move lots of tables around with no qualms. The food came out well, noone really had to wait much longer than anybody else. The service was good & the food was good.

Friendly staff, good for a pint, but if you are a foodie then don't eat here. Typical cheap pub chain food fine if you don't expect much quality. Pictures show hunters chicken with its different coloured peas, bbq sauce in gravy boat and pre-sliced cheese placed on top! The menu says 'Posh fish and chips'... trade descriptions, nothing posh about this and the chips were under cooked!

Family meal on a Friday evening, and we had the last available table. Typical Ember Inns food etc, and good value and tasty. There was a buzz about the place. Had the french dipping burger. No idea the french did that. And no need to emulate them again, bit the burger was really juicy without the dipping sauce thing. See photos.
