Very disappointing experience at Shobas Restaurant, Birmingham. The masala dosa tasted like it was made from powdered batter, channa masala was overly sweet and not authentic, and the tea seemed like instant powder; watery and flavourless. Paani poori was poorly done with, odd fillings (channa dal), and a strange soup-like accompaniment. Prices are high for such low quality food. To make matters worse, there was no proper handwash facility, which is unacceptable for a restaurant. I would strongly advise no one to come here and waste their hard-earned money. Clarifying Points in Response to Management: 1. The above mentioned review reflects our genuine experience of the food quality, service, pricing, and hygiene. Regardless of ingredient claims, the taste and presentation did not meet expectations. 2. The absence of a proper handwashing facility remains a valid concern. Hand sanitizer is not a substitute for handwashing in a food establishment 3. Your response makes several incorrect assumptions. We did not finish the full plates, and the tea was not consumed. You also state that the food was βconsumed completelyβ. It is unclear how management would know this, as you do not personally know us. Paying full price gives a customer the right to decide whether to eat, discard, or leave food unfinished. Customers should not be expected to waste food immediately or walk out to prove dissatisfaction.

If you're craving authentic, delicious street food, Shoba's Street Food is the place to go! The menu is packed with a variety of tasty options, all made fresh to order. I highly recommend Bajia (pakoras), the Pani Puri, crispy, flavorful, and the perfect balance of spicy and tangy! The Dosas are also fantastic, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and served with a variety of chutneys that elevate the flavor. The food is clearly made with quality ingredients, and you can taste the difference. Every dish is bursting with authentic flavors, and it's obvious that Shoba really knows her stuff when it comes to street food. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, youβll feel right at home. Highly recommend Shoba's Street Food for anyone looking for an amazing food experience. Iβll definitely be coming back soon!

A fabulously authentic South Indian restaurant where we have tasted beautiful dishes each time we have been. We had Idly, Vada and Dosa today. My daughterβs dad is from South India and loves this place. A relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and tasty food at very reasonable prices - all boxes ticked!

Had their samosas. Mediocre not great. Feel that they were frozen and then fried. The pastry was a bit dry and the filling was OK. Their mango lassi didn't have much mango flavour. Tasted more yoghurt than mango. Their Biscoff milkshake was great. Overall mixed experience.

Reasonable prices but mixed reviews on the food. The dosa was nice but the paneer inside it was super salty and didn't have a proper masala and the coconut chutney was off.The sambar was nice. The yoghurt in the paapdi chat again was slightly off.But portion size was good.Vegetarian thaali was nice but the rice portion size was really small.

I wish I could rate this restaurant below zero for their services. The food quality is absolutely tasteless with unprofessional staff not even have a manners to greet their customers first. Today I've ordered paneer dosa, South Indian platter and spring rolls. Trust me I have never ever had such kind of food in my lifetime. Requesting everyone not even try to attempt to visit once unless they change their taste specially mannerism. Especially, I'm going through the review section. Even the owner's replies cannot find justifiable. Certainly never meeting the UK's standardisation of food quality, service and money.

This was the most amazing street food Iβve tried! The owner was extremely thoughtful, we came for one item and ended up ordering five dishes and all of the dishes were on point! Will definitely return! I wanted the green chutney that wasnβt on the menu, she went out of her way to offer to make it! If you want perfect taste of indian street food, shobhas is the place to be.

Worst Indian food I've had, very disappointing. Ordered 4 vada pau's and were very tasteless (the potatoes had no masala whatsoever). So, I had to ask for some sauce to make it edible. The dahi puri was served in a pool of yoghurt making it soggy. I also ordered a falooda which had no price on the menu and when I ordered got to know it was Β£4.75! Not worth it at all. All it was ice cream and cream with few chia seeds. Plus, the funniest thing is that the falooda was more expensive than the main dish which was Β£3.20 each. Hygiene is below average and could be improved especially in the kitchen area.
