Plaice Fish Bar is hands down the best local chippy. The fish is always fresh with perfectly crispy batter, and the chips are spot on – not greasy and full of flavour. staffd are brilliant – always friendly, welcoming, and hardworking. You can tell they really care about the food and the service. The place is clean, the prices are fair, and the portions are generous. If you're after proper fish and chips, this is the place to go.

The fish was crispy, fresh and perfectly cooked. Flaky on the inside with a golden crunchy batter. The chips were hot, thick cut, and super tasty. Great portion size and friendly service too. One of the best fish and chips I've ever had in a long time. Highly recommend!

The wait time is something that’s needs addressing. Phoned an order through & was told it would be ready in 20mins. Having arrived 20mins later to an empty shop with no other orders being prepared to then have to wait a further 21mins for our food to be ready is simply unacceptable. Nothing in the chip shop should take 40mins to be prepared so why was I made to wait so long? Also after waited 5mins to see a staff member trot over to the shop to get an ingredient is laughable. Also £3.45 for the salad in the picture below is a joke!

Very lovely lady took the order. Ordered a selection of items, nicest was kebab and mushy peas. Sausage was dry, roe not the best, chips were dry and no salt and vinegar(despite asking for it), curry sauce adequate. We had haddock and the codes but I would say the cod didn't taste like cod. The batter was the biggest let down, anemic looking, tasteless, dry, the fish seemed overcooked and the batter undercooked and slimy on the inside. I wish I could post a photo. Food simply not good enough, I don't know if this is a blip or not.

Very good fish and chips. The place (or The Plaice) appears very clean, and everything is reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and the service is good. I had cod and my wife had haddock, and everything was piping hot and not greasy, and not a soggy chip in sight. I think I've found my new favourite chippy!
