We went here for dinner last Saturday before a gig at the o2 Institute. Korma is my favourite curry as I like the creamy flavour, this was up there as one of the best Korma's I've ever had, so creamy and the naan was great as well. Lovely style of decor too and friendly staff. An enjoyable dinner.
Perfectly okay Indian café, nothing more, nothing less. Popped in on a Saturday evening without a booking and got a table straight away. The place was about half-full, Bollywood music in the background, standard Brick Lane décor (elephant pictures, fairy lights, slightly sticky menus). Ordered chicken tikka masala (£12.95), lamb bhuna (£13.50), pilau rice, garlic naan and a peshwari naan to share. Food arrived quickly, probably 10 minutes. The tikka masala was sweet and creamy exactly like you expect, decent portion of chicken but nothing special. Bhuna was fine, a bit oily, reasonable spice level (medium actually felt medium). Naan breads were fluffy and hot, though the garlic one was more butter than garlic spread than fresh garlic.
Visited Manzil Restaurant in Birmingham on Easter Sunday and expected it to be quite busy with families out for food, but it was surprisingly quiet. I can imagine this place having a great atmosphere if it were full, so it felt like we missed out on what it could be. On the plus side, because it was quiet, the staff were really friendly and very attentive to our group of eight, which was appreciated. The food itself was just okay. Nothing particularly stood out, and it was odd seeing naan breads that looked quite flat and didn’t seem like they were cooked in a tandoor. Overall, it was an average meal made better by the good service.
The restaurant has to give what we ordered for but they did asked us to place some main course dish which is unfair anyhow the taste was good!
Only booked at short notice as in an hour before we wanted. Booked because it was close to the shopping centre we had visited and luckily got in as they had quite a few large parties at same time. Thankfully we were served quickly, the food was very hot and fresh. Nicest Naan breads we have had, so soft and fluffy. Only visiting Birmingham, so not a regular but the friendly service and great food is definitely a reason to go if we ever come back to Birmingham
If you’re looking for a decent curry and a good selection of drinks, this is the place! They accommodated our group of 9 people on 5 minutes notice. Service was fast, portion sizes were perfect for us, and all the dishes tasted great. All came away very happy. Can’t reccomend enough!
The food is so nice that it’s now my addiction. Lovely staff and atmosphere. The Peshwari Nan is delicious! Wish I had known this place before. Keep up the good work you guys.
Good food, but a little expensive. Service can be inconsistent. I've been here twice with good food on both times and unpredictable service. Probably will return
