I love this place. The food is consistently delicious. Good portions at reasonable prices. The service is a little cold, but not rude. The food is very good and worth a little hostility.

This is my go to Chinese. Even though I've moved away from Brum I still make the effort to come here if I'm around, or even if I just happen to be passing near. Some real nice authentic food, as well as more western staples. I'm a sucker for their Chicken Curry, but recently really enjoyed the duck tongue!

I've been here before and ordered the same menu but this time I ordered for takeaway. This is what I get for a hot&sour vermicelli brisket beef in £9.60. Only got this piece of beef for a whole portion. This is my last time for purchasing from this place.

One of the best dine-in Chinese places, if a tad more pricey than a takeaway or all-you-can-eat. Great quality and massive portions with an extensive menu (with pictures on the menu which is fab). This place is the best for sharing dishes as they provide small side plates. Note that this place is cash only but there is a cash point opposite the gay village under 1 minute walk down the road (can't miss it). Adjacent to the Dragon Inn wetherspoons, which is a great little combo in China town near the Hippodrome. Service is good and usually quick. Great for any meat and prawns, noodles or rice dishes - for a classic british chinese experience as well as some more authentic traditional options like skewers and hot pots/ tentacles, etc.

Love coming back to Pepper Chef. We had spicy lotus root, prawn toasts, cumin lamb and beef skewers this time. Chef kiss. Service is always efficient and you never have to wait long for the food to arrive.

The food here is always delicious, it is my favourite Chinese restaurant! The menu has so many different options and the cuisine is very authentic and features something for every taste. My favourite dish is the spicy stir fried pork intestine, however there are plenty of other options for those who fancy tamer culinary choices such as sweet and sour chicken or ribs with rice or chips and everything in between. Always an excellent place to visit, one thing to note is that it is cash only.

Not quite worth the hype on Chinese social media!! Having read rave reviews in another platform I was rather disappointed. We ordered lamb soup noodles, sour veg noodles, soy milk, fried dough sticks, tea eggs, jian bing pancakes. The dough sticks were especially disappointing, very dense and bread rather that light, crispy, and fluffy inside. Although portions were big you could probably get better tasting and quality food elsewhere for the same price. Cash only. Service was slow, food came out slow on a weekday afternoon.

The smoke extractor from the kitchen didn’t work so most of the customers were coughing while choking on spicy food. If you have Asthma pls don’t visit this place. The waitress(the only lady working that night ) has so much attitude that every time we asked for something she walked away without listening and come back with wrong items. The other waiters were nice! Hence why am giving 2 stars. Foods were overly layered with sour sauce. The Crispy duck was fried with old bad oil as we could smell it on the food. I couldn’t eat it. Food quality was ok and well portioned.
