   New to the area and wanted to find somewhere good. This place didn't disappoint. The team here are really friendly, it's clean, the prices are reasonable and the food was great. Often battered fish can be sickly but not from here, perfect and fresh. Kids meals are great value also.

   I had mini fish & chips with curry sauce priced at £5.90. This on the higher side compared to other local 'good' chippies. The chips were very good 5 out of 5 in my opinion. The fish was ok, probably would have cooked it slightly longer as the batter was a little soggy. This could have also been as the chips were placed on top of the fish inside the box. The cod inside the batter itself was very good. Curry sauce was not the typical chip shop curry. Much darker in colour, thinner and not lumpy. This took me by surprise initially but overall I actually enjoyed it and wanted more when I'd finished it. Shop itself, decor isn't great. Lots of unappealing green. The menus inside are not very professional with lots of hand written extra's on there. Also lots of hand written (not the best hand writing either) 'specials' on the walls. This could easily be tidied up for a more professional look. The staff were friendly and inviting Overall, I'm giving Mr P's a 4 out of 5, with just simple adjustments to easily achieve a 5 out of 5.I'd be happy to rate this place again in the hope to achieve a 5!

   Visited twice in June 2021 and I can highly recommend. Standard set here is exceptionally good. First off great Chips - the staple for any Fish and Chip shop. Have had the Haddock also, large, well cook with a crispy batter. Donner Meat meals are packed with food and good value. Curry sauce is especially very good and not the normal "out of packet" you get everywhere else. They have a lot of "specials" like 'swedish meat balls' which are VERY nice as are the battered Black Pudding is a must have! Really pleased with our couple of visits and will be our "norm" as long as it keeps those standards. Oh and they even have dog biscuits for those visiting along with their furry friends. Staff are very friendly and service is quick.
