   Popped in with mother and grandma, the member of staff who served us was a lovely young man, he was extremely friendly and professional, the food was well cooked and decent size portions. The establishment is a little dated and could do with a few touch ups, but for the price you pay you cant grumble about that.

   I went earlier on today around 6pm and a women come in with red messy hair shouting at the young man behind the counter who was trying to take my order and he couldn't hear me and had to ask me to repeat myself over 3 times, she came behind the counter and I wasn't sure if she worked there. She was shouting at him about his bins being full and only his even though when I went outside both of the bins was full i was extremely unimpressed and this was extremely disappointing. She was very rude to him and started shouting at the other young man behind the fryer saying "Steph was is not happy." This isn't a complaint at the two young men who was working they was amazing and I would happily be served by them two again, but that women was extremely rude and if she does work there I am hope that a manger speaks to her about harassing staff.

   It would be 0 stars after my recent visit. Went for fish and chips yesterday and arrived home vomiting. I have never ever had poisoning and unfortunately I now do. We used to love coming here but never again. Would not recommend. Dirty cutlery, dirty tea cups. Curry sauce was awful. Only ate 1/2 fish after being unsure whilst eating. And now off work with sickness and u settled stomach.

   Hi guys….well we all like a deal don’t we….especially Yorkshire people…..this restaurant stands back from the road looks like a new building …this was our first visit today.but without daunt will be the first of many.on arrival I looked at menu….which surprised me.big selection of home made food………we only went for the fish and chips we didn't know or expected such a Vared menu….any way I had the large cod ( but they do offer a giant cod) and my wife had the plaice only going to say a few words and that is ‘out of this world’ not only was the food here the same has what you would expected from ‘the Ivy ’ it was better and a lot cheeper…..ok it was a little more expensive then your average fish and chip shop ( they also have a takeaway at side) but your get what you pay for here a lovely clean well kept modern restaurant.with first class friendly service.the staff will look after you here guys.and the owner/chef will not only cook you first class fish and chips which were fresh on the day……..will charge you very little money

   It's just about the best value fish and chips anywhere. Clean and tidy restaurant pleasant service leave you to get on with your meal, but nothing is too much trouble. Wetherby Whaler is at least a third more expensive.
