Absolutely stunning sunday lunch we were staying in Bawtry for a few days and found this place from reviews. Nestled in a village not far from Bawtry you have to park in an overflow field to not block residents in but aside from that the atmosphere of this village pub was buzzing. A large array of drinks and draught beers as well as bar snacks. We were early so had to wait 20 mins for out table and the bar didnt have much more room for movement but we saw this as a good sign. Our table was ready on time and we were seen through to the back dining area which at sunset was simply stunning with the bifold doors giving incredible views over the garden and country fields. Beautifully decorated inside with a children's playground outside to keep younger ones happy and entertained. We will definitely return a hidden gem only 25 mins from home too! Look forward to a summer visit in the beer garden

We had Sunday lunch and we can’t fault the friendly efficient service, tye food was presented hot and very tasty, can highly recommend a visit. Tye beer garden is lovely, plenty of seats a good play area for children, be mindful it’s near a river. There was a vocalist on this afternoon in the garden and a lovely ice cream shop next door worth a visit

Having come as a recommendation and seeing the good reviews we decided to give it a go and was so happy. The staff were very friendly (especially Sarah) who was very chatty and welcoming. There was plenty of choice and we got meals from different sections of the menu as well as the specials board and it was all great. The Steak & Ale pie was especially amazing!! We didn't have starters so we could try the desserts and they were also all so good!! We will definitely go back again and even though it's a bit more expensive, it is definitely worth it!! Can't wait to try it in summer as well with the live music and beer garden. Thank you all so much. Have been for a second visit with friends to introduce them. Service was a bit slow but it was a beautiful day and all the tables were full. The food was amazing again and we even tried the ice cream parlour next door which was so nice. Spent an hour in the beer garden which was large and I would say it's alright. Tables and chairs were all solid and better than some basic ones. Still 5 stars from me!!

We joined the fondue & music night on 3rd March. Fantastic atmosphere great service in a lovely venue. However the food let it down. Β£25 pp and we ended up leaving hungry. Please re look your menu. A small platter of meat some pickles and bread is not worth Β£25. Shame.

3 visits in under 2 weeks! My father, who lives in Spain, loves the place. Great choice of beers, wines and spirits. The food is exceptional and offers a good choice that caters for most people. My only slight, and it is slight, quibble "The service charge". Otherwise staff are helpful, friendly and cannot do enough for you. In fact another visit planned for later.

What has happened to this place? I have visited the King William several times before when in the area. Generally the experience has been positive with good food and service. I went today with my family and oh my word, how things have changed... We arrived to total chaos, no one acknowledged us and the whole place felt in total array. Once we were seen to we were sat in the rear of the venue with a nice view over the gardens. The menu took quite some time to arrive and our drinks order wasn't taken until menus arrived. One member of our party has special dietary requirements and so asked the young waitress a few questions, she had no idea to the answers and explained there was no manager on duty today so didn't know who to ask?! We then asked another member of staff who went to ask the chef directly and he came back with the answers. Our food was good but did take some time to arrive. All the time we were at the venue it seemed like a sketch from Fawlty Towers, the experience we had today was incredibly poor and the place seemed unorganized and rudderless. Such a shame when spending Β£18.00 plus on a Sunday roast. Won't be planning on a return trip any time soon.

Visited this place as a party of 12 , unfortunately due to me not being able to read , me and my partner were an hour early , the barman that served us , was a lovely bloke , showed us to the table and was so accommodating, and carried on like this throughout the meal , the food we had was beautiful, and well worth the price , and the waitress that served the table did a great job , me and my partner will be happily visiting here again , couldn’t recommend enough . I know not enough good reviews are put on as people just expect that standard , so when it’s good and better , I’d like to give the establishment the credit they deserve , thank you for a lovely evening

Fabulous gastro pub! Tom is amazing front-of-house. Food is outstanding. Had better food here than in some Michelin-starred restaurants. Great wine list and amazing cocktails. Ask for the secret β€˜Conway Cooler’ on a sunny day.
