Excellent and friendly service! Great Sunday Dinner carvery, the food was perfect! The variety of meats were great and they were cooked to a very high standard! I would highly recommend this friendly pub. The music played varied to accommodate all ages however I found some of the modern songs challenging on the ears!
Was last here about 4 years ago. It was fantastic. Was really looking forward to coming here again. What a disappointing experience the revisit was. Pub was empty. The sausage and Mash was terrible. Gloopy, thick gravy, cheap sausages that tasted overcooked. Or reheated. Not sure. The Mash was lumpy and dry. The gravy didn't help. Won't go back.
Lovely,old friendly local pub. Good choice of beers and food served promptly with a smile.
Possibly one of the best “pub” fish & chips we have ever eaten. Beautifully cooked food, relaxed and friendly environment and a lovely, historical building. Well done for what you are doing here - we will definitely be back on our next trip up the A1.
we arrived 1:45pm on thursday after hiking. the place was only had a few customers. we all ordered the mixed grill. I also had the treacle sponge with custard. the meals were OK.
Absolutely Beautiful Food and service, nothing was too much effort as I asked to change the contents of my meal. The Mixed Grill and Steak Pie are to die for! Don't think, just do it! You won't regret!
A great place to visit to order a carvery. A good size portions of meat and help yourself to vegetables. Also lovely deserts. Will come back here the next time we come this way. Could’ve wait to get stuck in.
