Ordered a mushroom curry alongside other food as I am vegetarian. The food arrived late and was cold - but worst of all they sent a chicken curry. The manager needed to be reminded about customer service (didn’t say sorry, etc.).
Massively disappointed after making serval attempts to contact the establishment to only every recieving one message back stating "what about" On Monday evening (9th December) we decided to order a takeaway from your restaurant. We have ordered from you a number of times before and have been very impressed with the high quality of food, definitely one of the best Indian restaurants I have visited. There were a number of issues that you should be made aware of: 1) We initially attempted to order through your ‘app’ but were unable too as it kept throwing us out saying ‘incorrect amount!’ This meant we had to go through Just Eat which was £12 more expensive - a sum I imagine that your restaurant does not benefit from. However, as we consider you the best around we were not unduly troubled by this. 2) When the food arrived, it was in no way up to your usual standard. My wife’s favourite starter - The Fish Pakora, was not just undercooked but in fact raw! The batter was soggy too but, as I’m sure you’ll agree, she would have been wrong to eat this slimy offering as she would still be suffering food poisoning even now. 3) For no explicable reason you had also included some battered and deep fried prawns which we hadn’t ordered. At least I presume they were prawns as this time they were so overcooked as to be indescribable! We would have much rather had the pakora cooked properly in the first place. 4) The Garlic Naan was nice on the outside but was little more than raw dough in the middle so only a tiny portion of this was edible. Again, such a shame, as the Naan bread is always a highlight of a meal from you. Whilst I am aware that we ordered on a Monday night and you may not have had your best chefs at work, I would expect them to know how to cook these basic dishes. Especially considering some of the new, exciting and varied dishes that have started to appear on your menu.
Absolutely beautiful small family run business...came and had a gorgeous meal with my partner the team was extremely warm and welcoming to us....there is a great selection of drink choices same with meal choices....food arrived promptly and hot and staff carried regular check backs to make sure we was comfortable and happy. Absolutely loved my chicken balti and pilau rice and highly recommend.....we will be visiting again for sure.
What a lovely place for an evening of great food! All the dishes were cooked superbly and I know we will be visiting again!
My boyfriend is very picky when it comes to take aways in Retford and never been impressed until now !! We’ve had several takeaways here and honestly can not fault Amirs !! Beautiful food always 10/10 and reasonably priced !! Highly recommended !
Lovely little restsurant and takeaway. The owner (and chef), Amir, came out to introduce himself and to check if we had everything we needed. The food was authentic and delicious. It was very reasonably priced, and the music was beautiful. Nice chilled atmosphere and the staff were really friendly and attentive.

Amirs Balti House Retford Food lovely but delivery time shocking. Ordered food on line just before 7.30pm given delivery time 8.38pm came at 10.00pm. This is 2nd delayed delivery in a row, why over promise and under deliver resulting in poor customer care.Sorry will go elsewhere from now.
