The best Italian food outside of Italy, hands down. The staff are so friendly and so attentive. They all know their stuff when it comes to Italian cuisine. Only thing I'll say is, turn up with an appetite because even the small plates are not small. Upside is, anything you can't finish you're more than welcome to take home with you. The focaccia bread as a starter is divine. One between three is plenty. The small dishes - If you order two small dishes each you better be hungry or prepared to take some home! If you love Italian food or pasta, it's almost impossible to just choose one dish. All of them are fabulous. I don't know why I haven't been here before but I can promise you this will not be my only visit. I drove 45 minutes to get here, and it was worth every bit of it. Grazie mille.

Another little gem of a restaurant that I didn't even know existed until a good old Google search for local Italian Restaurants. As some mention, no way would we have even known this was an Italian inspired restaurant and oh my, what a lovely birthday treat for my girlfriend this was. The warm welcome by the staff, possibly the owner, was polite and genuine. We felt the menu was not extensive which we actually prefer, in our opinion this often reflects quality over quantity which it most certainly did. We both thoroughly enjoyed the chosen dishes where both courses arrived after a perfectly acceptable time due to being home made and fresh to which we were not disappointed. No desserts on this occasion as we simply didn't need them after the starter & main course. We'll most certainly visit again ... thanks for a great end to her birthday day.

This restaurant is fantastic! We chose to come here as it was conveniently located for us that day but WOW what an amazing experience it was! Firstly the food is simply outstanding! The prices were very reasonable too but more to the point this was some of the best Italian food we have ever had in the UK (and in Italy to be honest!) The chef clearly knows his stuff and every single dish was excellent. My favourite two were the pear and gorgonzola bruschetta and the vodka tomato and ndujia pasta but every dish was amazing. We all kept trying each others as they came out. What was meant to be a quick and convenient lunch turned into a dining experience we won't forget. Our hosts were also fantastic and took care of us very well. Getting to chat with the chef at the end and hear that they make everything they can on site confirmed that this is a unique place not to be missed. Cannot wait to come back and try everything else on the menu. Highly recommend anyone who likes good food to come and try for yourself.

If you like Italian food, then you don't need to look any further than here. We booked a very early evening time slot on a saturday evening for 5.00pm. Thinking we would get there before the crowds. How wrong can you be? The car park was almost full. This is no more a hidden gem. It's shining in the spotlight and so pleased to see them doing so well. This is one of those very rare restaurants, where if you can't choose what to order you could just leave up to the chef to decide for you. The food is all so fresh and absolutely delicious. Even though they were busy, the service was spot on and friendly. Staff are totally on the ball and constantly checking on every table. If you are going to go,make sure you book!

Brilliant! Extremely dog friendly, as soon as we sat down the chef brought a plate of pork and a bowl of water over for our dog!! The waiters were so friendly and familiar with the menu, service was efficient but not rushed but above all, the food was phenomenal! True quality, beyond all expectations. We drove from Sutton in Ashfield (my other half drove because the wine was too delicious for me to miss out on) it’s well worth the journey. If I could change anything, the lighting could be softer. That being said, the food deserves a spotlight!

Best Sunday lunch I've ever had! Absolutely delicious and stunning in every detail. Loved the saucepan of gravy we got with it! Lovely venue inside and out. Owners were super friendly and very dog friendly.

After reading so many amazing reviews, yesterday I visited the Italian Kitchen with my lovely mum & best friend, we loved it! We received a very warm welcome, the staff were so friendly, the service was excellent, thank you to William who really looked after us and on request recommended a dish which was the perfect choice! The atmosphere was lovely, the food incredible, fresh food filled with so much flavour, delicious! We had intended taking photos of every dish to show the beautiful presentation, however we were caught up in the moment of enjoying eating so we only took a few. The food was cooked to perfection, as a vegetarian there were many choices available, there is also the option to have a main course as a starter if you prefer to try several smaller dishes. My mum loved the smoked cod with pea and mint risotto, we all enjoyed starters, mains and the best tiramisu! The chef came out to introduce himself, his passion for food and the highest quality home grown produce was evident, he’s a really lovely guy. We are so fortunate to live locally & look forward to returning again very soon. We highly recommend The Carpenters Arms Italian Kitchen

Such a friendly welcome from the staff and so attentive throughout the meal. The food was fantastic. Belly pork and lobster pasta. Beautifully cooked and presented and tasted heavenly. These guys really have injected new life into this venue. We will be back.

Food bursting with flavour and so fresh. The portion sizes are extremely generous and couldn't manage to fit in a dessert as we were so full. Plenty of cocktails including some which are a bit different to the norm, the blood orange spritz was really refreshing Staff are really friendly and make sure everything is OK without being constantly on your shoulder Great value lunchtime menu as well, £10 for a meal and a drink and plenty of vegetarian and vegan options as well
