    We found the Royal Oak by accident while staying in the area. It was great to find somewhere with such good food and service. Having the kitchen open was greatly appreciated, you can see and hear how the kitchen is run.

    After hiking in Sherwood Forest we decided to have lunch at this beautifully decorated pub which is about a 5-minute walk away from the forest main car park. Many details on the walls remind you of trees. The staff is really friendly. They have a varied menu, suitable for all tastes. We had fish and chips, beef pie and a Caesar's salad. Lovely food. A place to stop by.
