From the moment we arrived with a warm welcome we felt very comfortable in our surroundings. Our food was cooked to perfection, arriving without delay. We hadn't been to The Royal Oak before but won't hesitate to do so again. Thank you for a lovely evening.
First time visit for a party of 4 friends, having read the reviews prior to our visit, we were expecting great things, unfortunately we were dissappointed. I was the tough chewy overcooked inedible beef, the others 3 all plumped for turkey, which was fine. Veg served in seperate dishes on the side was also overcooked and frankly lukewarm. Roast potato's were undercooked, mash was fine, Yorkies were fine, stuffing fine. Gravy wasn't piping, so we were unable to rescue the tepid veg. We were offered pigs in blankets, as a side, which were actually quite nice, however, £4.95 for 5 seemed pretty expensive - for the price of the food, it would have been nice if just one had been on the plate! 2 alcoholic drinks, two non alcoholic. One scoop of ice cream for one of us and just over £114 later, we were charged a 10% service charge, don't get me wrong the service was fine, just a shame the meal was a big let down. Note, a service charge should be discretionary in accordance with how the customer feels about the overall experience. We did pay it, but felt dissappointed overall. Venue itself was fine.
We stopped there on the way back from Kings Lynn to Preston. Service was lovely. Food was great got a photo of the pudding but couldn't resist the main which was ham egg and proper chips. Portion sizes was great would highly recommend. Will go back if we get the chance worth the detour.
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. The pie in particular was delicious. It may be helpful to know that bookings over 6 people need a £5 per person deposit, and a 10% service charge is added to the bill which you can decide to pay. We will definitely be back!
Had a lovely meal here for my mums birthday last week. We were all impressed by the size of the portions for the price & everything tasted amazing. Kids meals were great & staff were lovely too.
Stopped off for a business meeting by chance while passing. Service was excellent. Comfortable surroundings and the food was delicious. Home cooked veg and a deep filled pie with plenty of meat. Will definitely return!
Went for a meal out with friends. Ordered in advance so didn't have too long to wait to be served. Had the chicken and bacon salad followed by lotus biscoff cheesecake with ice cream. Everything was tasty and well presented.
Went for lunch at the Royal Oak, Tickhill today & it was very nice. Kept seeing reviews & it looked good so tried it out. Staff very friendly & helpful. Food was amazing & plenty of it. Will definately be returning again xx
