So I've lived around this place for more than a year now but yesterday, I finally decided to go here and it didnt dissapoint. The ambience was cozy & welcoming like a home. Wen's is a place you'd keep going once you taste the amazing home and hand made food. We ordered Wonton soup (pork), which was a bit underseasoned for my liking but still quite nice and easy on the palate. Prawn toast were absolutely wonderful and a must try, Minced chicken pran fried dumpling, amazing, again. And banana fritters just because we wanted to end on a sweet note, and it was laced with fried shredded potato, the perfect end to our meal. Our servers were absolutely wonderful and place was packed on a thursday eve, which says a lot about it.

This restaurant is amazing. We ordered 3 dishes and one of it is "Braised Pork Cubes in Brown Sauce (红烧肉). This dish is so good, better than the one I have tried in my own town. I didn't expect it will be good as the Chinese Restaurant in England is kind of "OK" standard, so so. Well done!

Service was quick and the food was delicious. Second time going to Wens and looking forward to the next one. I had the pork pan fried dumplings and Dan Dan noodles. A little heat in the broth and the dumplings came with a black vinegar dressing. I finished off with pistachio and lemon cheesecake. Tastes as good as it looks.

We are regulars here. Wen’s has got to be amongst our most favourite restaurants in Leeds. Not your takeaway style Chinese but proper home cooked meals by the Wen family. Love the team. Top picks: prawn pan friend dumplings, lamb with coriander, onion & cumin, Chinese dry sausage rice, duck pancakes, s&p baby squid. Book before you go just to be sure!

A Hidden Gem in Leeds I recently had the pleasure of dining at a truly exceptional restaurant that I believe is a hidden gem in Leeds. From the moment I entered, I was impressed by the inviting atmosphere and the warm, welcoming staff, who create a sense of home that’s often missing in larger chain establishments. It offers an authentic dining experience that is a far cry from the typical greasy takeaway options that flood the market. The food is very tasty and authentic. This is not your typical horrible greasy, fake Chinese mush food that many people seem to enjoy from their local takeaway - like "fried rice" swimming in soy sauce with "sweet and sour reprocessed and regurgitated chicken testicles covered in diabetes sugar sauce". If you are one of those weirdos who likes that crap food (which is only served in Britain and ordered by British for some bizarre reason), then I don't recommend you come here. If, however, you like authentic home cooked style food and are open to trying something other than "sweet and sour chicken" then I recommend a visit and give it a try. Equally impressive is the selection of drinks. The teas we ordered were delightful, clearly made from high-quality leaves rather than the usual generic tea bags. It’s these little touches that enhance the dining experience. The staff members are incredibly friendly and seem to genuinely care about their customers, which adds to the restaurant's charm. The cozy interior creates a homely atmosphere, making you feel right at ease. Another point worth mentioning is the cleanliness of the facilities. The bathrooms were spotless, reflecting the restaurant's overall attention to hygiene and detail. A clean bathroom is often a good indicator of a well-maintained kitchen. Overall, if you’re seeking an authentic, quality dining experience in Leeds, I highly recommend visiting this delightful establishment. You won’t be disappointed.

The BEST Chinese restaurant. As a northern Chinese, I can say this is the most authentic Chinese food in Leeds. Dumplings remind me of my hometown. Quality food and excellent service, thanks to Wen‘s.

Authentic Chinese food which I have tried in this area. Quite little restaurant with very friendly staff. I tried the chicken spring rolls, sliced pork belly in chilli oil and chicken friend rice which was very good. The egg fried rice could have been a little bit more flavourful. Stir fried king prawn with cashews lacked flavor for my taste

I've wanted to come to Wen's for a while, and finally did this weekend, and it was worth the wait. We started with fried minced beef dumplings which were perfect. Then we had the chicken in chilli oil - sliced cold chicken thighs on the bone in the most perfectly spiced chilli oil. For mains we had the fried sea bass and lamb with cumin, two very different but equally delicious dishes. The staff were excellent and it was a friendly atmosphere and you could tell the other diners were also enjoying their food as much as we were. Will definitely visit again soon.

Brilliant restaurant, food was very tasty and much better than a takeaway. Very authentic Chinese and the staff are so nice. Small venue with not many tables so advise booking to not disappoint.

Came here after recommendations from friends and seeing good reviews. I must say, in order to capture the true essence of the food here is to choose their stand out dishes, for example, the spicy whole sea bass dish was absolutely delicious. You’ll need a vegetable dish (I personally liked the Chinese cabbage dish, though I would’ve preferred pak Choi or choi sum) along with a bowl of rice in order to really enjoy it properly. The extra noodle dish was great, but majority of the favour is in the soup so don’t eat the noodles on its own; the noodle’s texture was good. I do have some minor criticisms, the salt and pepper squid was slightly too salty, so a wedge of lemon would’ve been good to accompany but wasn’t available, however the texture was good, which is a sign of good quality squid. Additionally, the service was very slow, even for a Thursday night when I visited, as I’d waited 30min for the squid starter and my drinks were forgotten by the waiter. Overall, I would recommend this place as it serves great food. In order to really enjoy an Asian restaurant, particularly Chinese, you should try order more traditional dishes or at least dishes that aren’t on your regular takeaway menu.
