We decided to go to this place and was able to book online for a group of 8 that early afternoon. When we arrived the place is absolutely magnificent with decor and ambience as soon as you walk in. It on the side of the canal and during the day I am sure the area looks lovely. The place was already busy but was seated soon as. We all ordered different starters and mains with rice, nan and drinks. The food was pretty good and everyone loved it. The waiters were attentive and friendly throughout. We had a fabulous experience at Mumtaz. I would say to check your chairs and tables as some were wobbly for safety.

First time here. The building is beautiful and the staff have been really friendly and accommodating. The food was fantastic. I took a chance on a medium spice biryani, a bit worried it was going to blow my head off. It was spot on. The naans are huge and the food is filling. Would highly recommend. Payel served us and was fantastic. Thank you Payel.

Very Disappointing Experience – Poor Service and Overcooked Food Visited Mumtaz Leeds today and left extremely disappointed. The food and service were both well below expectations for a restaurant that claims to be one of the finest Indian/Pakistani establishments in Yorkshire. The masala fish was overcooked and very dry, while the lamb chops were overdone, tough, and chewy. Service was poor; they forgot my cheese naan and even tried to say we hadn’t ordered it, only to later come back and apologise that we had. By the time they finally sorted it out, my lamb karahi had gone stone cold. When the naan did arrive, it was too late to enjoy the meal properly. Not a single dish served was right, and overall the experience was incredibly disappointing. I left still feeling hungry because I barely ate anything. Extremely poor showing from such a supposedly reputable restaurant. Would not recommend. Take your business elsewhere, there are far better places to eat in Leeds and across Yorkshire.

We have been to Mumtaz multiple times in the past. A beautiful place along Leeds Dock. Great ambiance and plenty of seating area. There has been a long gap that we didn’t visit, this week we visited Mumtaz Leeds twice! Their food is very tasty. We ordered Mumtaz Masala Fish which was okay but we loved their lamb Karahi and butter chicken. Chicken boti, lamb chops and seekh kebab were authentic in taste with a blend of proper spices. Went again today with family ordered Lamb Karahi again, plus we ordered Mugaz which was exceptionally delicious. We also ordered chicken boti, seekh kebab and biyani. Biryani was okay. And obviously our order wouldn’t be complete without Mango Lassi. Their staff is very friendly even when it was very busy, Priya and Ali are amazing, they made us feel welcomed and served us well. There is a large parking area besides the restaurant.

I've been told many a time to visit Mumtaz in Leeds but New Years Eve was my First Experience and BOY did I enjoy it! The atmosphere in there is Amazing, the Decor outstanding and they even have mini Photo Booths for those who like taking Photos... The Food was Divine. I would recommend the Mixed Platter Starter for sure.

1. Mixed Grill starts where nice and spicy too (really enjoyed) 2. mains - the chicken steak was nice but not the lamb one and the mash was cold.. 3. The Mocktails where not nice stick to normal drink. 4. Interior and vibe in the place is really nice. 5. Parked on the main road. 6. take card payments

The food however incredible we ordered the Platter and it was excellent value for money. The dessert selection is endless as well. We couldn't finish all the food so had it to take away. I will definitely visit again. The restaurant was at capacity which resulted in the service being slightly slow but this was expected.

Decor is great and the place has a really nice feel to it, service was also on point. Shame the food was not worth the money at all! Ive had a sweaty takeaway more tastier than this, also the masala fish has bones in which we were not told when we initially ordered, best thing about Mumtaz is the mango lassi however i wouldn’t bother wasting any more of my time or money at this place. There used to be a time when they used to actually serve decent food but now its just tasteless.

Booked ahead for Friday night and its in a great spot beside the Leeds Dock. Very fancy decor and as it states very much 'The Selfie Restaurant'. Unfortunately they don't serve alcohol but that aside it was nice. Our waitress Reena was lovely. The menu was slightly different to places we've visited before maybe as this is a "Majestic Kashmiri fine-dining" restaurant? Was OK but wouldn't rush to try again.
