Just visited here for food as we are travelling from London and looked on google for somewhere with a nice home cooked menu. After seeing pictures of the pies online we was excited to visit. Unfortunately we have just left extremely disappointed. The pie I had looked nothing like the ones on the pictures, the meat was very dry & no sauce or gravy inside. The pastry was awful. The βhome cutβ chips seemed to be frozen chips. My friend got the βpulled BBQβ chicken ciabatta. The chicken was not pulled it was chunks of very dry chicken. My other friend chose the βtoad in the holeβ which is complete false advertisement as she was given a frozen Yorkshire pudding with mash inside & sausages on top. This is not a toad in the hole, but when we questioned the manager why it was given to her like this he said βthatβs just how we do itβ. My daughter wanted sausage & mash, I asked if could pay to add a Yorkshire pudding on the waitress said they donβt have any Yorkshire puddings however this clearly wasnβt true. Once we finished and went to pay we spoke to the manager to voice our issues and he didnβt seem interested in our opinions what so ever and said he would let the chef know. Very very disappointing. For the prices the food should be a lot better than that, we honestly have eaten better food at low budget places like Wetherspoons.

First time visiting after a recommendation from friends. Went on a Sunday and had the Sunday Roast which was was excellent, really well cooked and tasty. Very filling. Sticky Toffee pudding desert was recommended and proved to be delicious. Service was great, very friendly and attentive staff. Nice atmosphere. Will definitely look to return to try the midweek menu. Poulter Country Park is a few minutes drive away which offers some nice walks in the area.

The first time visiting tonight and we was so impressed. The food was amazing! I'd say the best food we've had out in a long time. The atmosphere was lovely. The staff really attentive and friendly especially Rhiannon, who gave a great recommendation on which dessert to try. We will most certainly be returning.

I love this place, great food and service. Highly recommended, but book on Sat and Sun as they get busy.

Well presented large meals. A rounded menu for carnivores and vegetarians (pescatarians) alike. Don't expect a large choice though. A little baffled that they served the wine in gin glasses. Service not the best. I will assume that the waitress was new as she was fluttering around too much. I would go again just to try something different on the menu. Also found it strange that there were no drinks menus.

The food is great, we had the garlic bread with molten cheddar starter. The bread had a great crust yet the inside was light, and as for the cheese, just look at my reviews attached photo. For a main we had the lamb, the red wine and mint gravy was luscious. I had the the lamb done medium and it was cooked amazingly, juicy yet tender. The other Member of my party preferred their lamb well-done and they were just as satisfied as me with the lamb.

This was our first visit to The Devonshire. It was great. The staff were friendly and efficient and tended to our needs without being overbearing. The environment was upmarket yet comfortable and inviting. The food was amazing. Everything tasted so good. Portions were large but not over priced. I had a pie and it was packed with meat, not half empty like in some places. Definitely will be going back to try more of the menu.
