Really cosy family friendly run pub with log fires in both rooms. Great food selection from the menu. A great carvery Fridays and there Sunday dinners are the best (booking essential ). Monday night is chip butties night and discounted drink night.

Nice experience. Unable to comment on all facilities. Recommendation subject to change. Menu and nightly activities look enticing. Mixed Grill appeals as its all red meats supplied by a butchers we're familiar with. We'll be back.

You can't go wrong at this wonderful pub. The food is superb, all the ingredients are locally sourced and cooked to perfection. You've got to try their full English breakfasts, especially the large belly buster. 3 sausage, 3 bacon 2 eggs, 2 hash browns, black pudding ( my fav), beans and plum tomatoes, comes with toast and tea. Me being greedy ask for fried bread on top....fantastic. But then, you've got to try their homemade pies, packed with filling to the brim, simply the best. They have lots of offers on different nights, so it's always worth calling in for a feast....

My 2nd visit. This one was not as good as the first. Food was overcooked, and I found a long hair under my roast potato. Saying that the price was good, the staff were lovely and although I never had one the deserts looked amazing. We have booked to return so hopefully some of the magic of our first visit will return. We did find a beautiful outside area with dog water bowls, fairy lights, heaters and comfy seats perfect for a drink if you were out with the dogs.

Excellent selection of ale brewed on the premises. Did us copious good food as a party for next to nothing. They also do steak and Tapas nights. Very welcoming staff and landlord

Smelt lovely and looked really nice but was disappointed with the meal... far too much mash and not enough veg and every slice of the massive plate of meat I was served was like it had come from different joints of beef...1 tender 1 tough 1 full of fat. ...quantity does not rule out quality... think it's probably microwaved.... didn't enjoy it at all..

Sunday lunch highly recommend the Beef, lots of meat, good selection of veggies and cheese sauce optional, really enjoyed and too full for pudding sadly
