   Pub was very quiet and we were only ones in dining room, tables set beautifully with wine glasses and table cloths. Menu was handed over and we all made our selection, when the waitress came for our order we were told it was the 'golden' menu only. Was really disappointed and would have liked to have been told before hand. Maybe 6 menu options, none what I really fancied. Food came out suspiciously quickly and plates very hot, we suspect all had been microwaved. Pie and scampi seemed to be mass produced. Puddings ordered and was disappointed with apple tart soggy and lacking flavour. Seemed to be good value (this menu was 2 courses for £12 ish) but I'd rather have paid a higher price for better quality food. May have been better at a different time of the day. It seemed all set up for this evening but miss-matched wine glasses and beautiful slate place mats were marked too. Would not recommend. Very average.

   Food not cheap, 12.95 for a small portion of frozen soggy scampis and 5.95 for the smallest child pizza. My chicken I had to return it as it was so dry you couldn’t even cut it with the knife. That put me off of food and didn’t order anything new. We were on a table at the entrance and had to stand up many times to get the waiters attention. Staff was nice at least and polite. Would not go back. Not a great experience at all.

   First time coming here for a Sunday cavery and we were not disappointed, the food tasted amazing and the staff were all lovely and polite. We will definitely be returning.

   I went for a meal there with family and ordered Garlic mushrooms it was ok but way to much garlic and I love Garlic! but there were more Garlic than mushrooms, so I asked the waitress to let the chef know she said ok, we then had to wait a long time for the main course and when it came the fish was so dry and hard we couldn't eat it! when the waitress came and asked if everything was ok and 3 of us said no she said sorry and walked off, when they came to clear the table another waitress could see we hadn't eaten the fish so she asked if everything was ok so we told her the same and she said she would tell the chef, she then came out and said the chef said sorry! I said is that it she said yes! So I said well you can tell the chef I will pay for the salad garnish and the potatoes but I'm not paying £15.95 for dry seabass that I couldn't eat. After about 10-15 minutes later she came and said they wouldn't be charging us for it so I said thank you. On a positive note the syrup sponge and custard was very yummy. But I won't be returning.

   Decent menu options and inexpensive, but the kitchen didn't manage to get our 6 meals out to the same quality (midweek afternoon). Their steak pie was superb, but the salmon dish was overcooked and potatoes undercooked. Desserts were over-sweet and custard was the tinned stuff.

   Went here for the Sunday carvery. We really enjoyed the food, it was lovely. There were plenty of staff and we were well looked after. Highly recommended. Thanks very much. It was our first time there and we'll definitely be going back.

   Clean and pleasing decor. The food was well presented and really tasty. The only criticism was that there was only one person serving. They did a great job all on their own but it did mean the service was slow.
