We were a group of 25 family members enjoying the festive menu (2 vegetarians) So well looked after by Louise, nothing was too much trouble. Food was well cooked great variety for the carvery and served hot. Can't praise it enough. Will definitely go back again.

My daughter and family booked this venue for my 70th birthday celebration. She has been many times before and has been satisfied. Not so this night 12/12/2025 at 6.30. pm. The welcome at the desk was from an older female staff member and that was a surly greeting. ( She wasn't wearing a name tag ) No table number either. I had soup to start which came with very dry brown bread. The lasagna I had after was microwaved to an inch of its life, brown at the edges and hard underneath. The piece of garlic bread that accompanied this was bigger than the lasagna. Quite a few of our party of 8 found a problem with their meal ie ( not warm enough, watery gravy, or having to wait for assistance at the carvery to get some food. As advertised pigs in blankets were a special ( had to wait for those ) . Alas it was not just us either, the family on the next table to us complained about their food and the rude attitude of the same member of staff who greeted us. On answering some of our queries she was short , sharp and to the point. Thankfully there were a couple of nicer members of staff there. Don't think we will be back, what should have been a memorable evening was sadly spoilt.

Great family friendly place. We are a large family group of 15, various ages. De Rodes Arms is able to comfortably seat us. Never sat anywhere that we feel we are in the way of other diners. Lovely range of food, most of us had a fantastic Sunday carvery (could have been a little warmer) meat was juicy, veg was cooked perfectly & roasts were fluffy & crisp. Some of our table had yummy pizza. Staff here are fantastic, super friendly & kind, smile on everyone's faces

Popped in for dinner as I was staying in the area. Staff were friendly & there was a half price offer on pizza so I had that with chicken & sweetcorn. It was freshly made & tasty although the ratio of cheese to the tomato sauce was not sufficient in my opinion. There was a good portion of the pizza with either no topping at all or just tomato so it was a good job it was half price night as I would not have been pleased paying full price. I did feed this back when I was asked how I enjoyed my meal & although the lady was apologetic, it was just, "we do have someone new training on there tonight so I will feed it back". Hopefully it's been taken on board so other people don't get a part naked pizza!

Beautiful dinner, staff are brilliant. Meg Vicki and Leah were great at explaining everything for us on our visit and very welcoming. Then Emma who was on the carvery was polite and had a big smile. 10/10

Nice place to have brunch. But carvery serving is too little we think, not enough meat for the money we spend. Friends had same opinion.

24/12/22 Me and the wife called at the De rodes after christmas shopping . For 2 carverys and drinks .Ordered drinks and 2 carverys . Found a table left our drinks on the table and went to get the carverys . Girl serving drinks very polite and helpfully explaining large and standard carvery . Girl serving / cutting the meat Nice again . Had turkey & ham , and the meat just melted in your mouth , picked a selection of veg , added gravy and went back to our table and really injoyed the meal . Will call again

Wanted to to take my son out for lunch today but I always worry as he's such a fussy eater and everything becomes a big deal. But we took the risk and I'm glad we did. We tried the halloumi fries and shared a large pizza and for afters we had the XXX cookie sundae which was divine. The waitress Rebecca must have been able to see how anxious I was at the start of our visit but I definitely wasn't by the end of it she went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Would 100% go again and recommend to family and friends. Thanks again for a lovely afternoon.

Always a great buffet breakfast to be had here , but experienced a disappointing Lunchtime carvery. Booking on line was easy , staff friendly and helpful . However , the Carvery was a thoroughly disappointing- a very small amount of chosen meat ( very small ), and some of the vegetables were warm.. Staff were inundated with customers- or I would have raised my concerns with them.
