I was invited to Christmas dinner but I didn't really eat much. Some of the roast potatoes & veg were under cooked but we had a lovely waitress running around for some of the party.

Outstanding. The food was delicious with generous portions, and the pub is excellent for kids, with a play are inside and out. made the experience even better for our 3 energetic boys. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend it to others. Easy and convenient acsess. Thankyou. Merry xmas to you all at Elmwood farm xx

From the moment we entered a very busy elmwood, we were greeted by a wonderful smile. We were shown to our clean table and cutlery brought quickly. I waited in line and saw all hands on deck at the bar as the busy bar staff were serving with a smile. Katie Jayne was busy around our table cleaning and chatting while working. She made us feel very welcome. The carvery was delish... as always. 2 mixed grills ordered which were beautiful. The steak was cooked med rare as requested... perfection. The staff are so wonderful here. Its a treat to come. Especially with staff members like Katie Jayne.

Came tonight and never felt so rushed to leave a pub! I appreciate your opening times but if our food didn't come out until 8pm then to be told we couldn't have dessert as the kitchen is closed is an absolute joke! I actually work in hospitality so I know how things work. Staff clock watching, moving our (not empty) glasses. Food wasn't up to scratch either. Will not be returning.

Went for something to eat, my wife had the carvery which is always top notch. I had a combo meal which was nice also. The chicken strips were a bit crispy but tasted fine, we eat here quite often for a early evening meal. We have never had a bad meal yet.

Very average pub chain food. Addition to above based on owner reply. I don't expect fine dining in places like this. The prices are very reasonable which is a good thing especially in todays financial crisis. I also understand that hospitality has been hit hard in the pandemic and I really want to support it in getting back on its feet. But we attended as a large group of 15 for a birthday celebration. Some of the dishes that came out looked great and were pretty good. But 70% of them looked like the food had been thrown on the plate and chucked in a microwave. I had the Southern fried chicken skewer combo and tbh it just looked pathetic on the plate. It was a handful of chips and a couple of skewers on a large ish plate and it looked pathetic if I'm honest. It was quite bland and if it wasn't for the Korean barbecue sauce I'm not sure I would have eaten it. It looked and tasted like something I would expect from a Wetherspoons where you pay about 50p for a meal with a drink. If it had just maybe had a bit of salad garnish or something to make it look a bit less pathetic. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh as like I said some of the meals looked and tasted great (the smothered chicken for one) and on that basis I've upped a star. Maybe I'm also a little over critical as the last time we visited there was very little on the menu available and what was available wasn't great at the time either.

Went for the festive menu with the family. Service was very lax even though it was supposed to be table service. I had to go and find a waitress to ask for each course, then had to wait half hour when we asked for the bill. The floor under our table was covered with food and they hadn't bothered to tidy up. Won't be thinking of there next year.

We had a family dinner here. The app was not working quite properly. But it was no trouble to order at the bar. There are more items on the app. Menu than on the paper menu.... The main course were excellent. A very generous portion size. Well cooked. And well presented. The hunters chicken was lovely. Tender and again a generous portion. The beef and ale pie was tasty moist inside, nice pastry. The scampi was plentiful as was the salad. The deserts were.... lovely. Again there are more on the app menu. The knickerbocker glory is not on the paper menu. But it was very good. (See photo) Highly recommended. Will definitely be using this restuarant again. And recommending it to my friends. Top Mark,s. 02/04/22 We came again. Saturday lunch. Full carvery, lovely meal, loads of choices. A gluten free menu is available and vegetarian and vegan options. A good desert table and some fantastic cakes. Still highly recommended.
