I should qualify my review as we went on buffet night on a Sunday. Now I dislike buffet - fubdamentally its food messed around by 50 'waiters and servers' of varying cleanliness and skill. There was no choice than the £20 buffet so we waded in. The starters were generally dry - not sure if thats their ususal texture but id go for left around a while. Some of the plates looked a bit messy - not particularly poked around with but the popadoms leaked over the bowl meaning fingers rather than tongs were needed. The main sin of the main courses were that they were luke warm. Veggie thankfully so less of a food hazard, very tasty, but the coldness left me thinking I was eating someone's left overs. We mentioned the food was cold and the staff went over to have a look and a bit of a fuss around. Too late. The currys tasted great and a good choice, so that was a shame. I didnt risk the lukewarm rice so we had the last of the chilling chappi strips to accompany. Sweets were lovely - the best vegan chocolate cake ive eaten. The place looked great by the way. Nice fresh decor. We had lashings of Cobra (well one of those big big bottles) but there was a well stocked bar although no real ale. Summing up, i probably would have enjoyed the meal had we come on a different night, friendly, smart, clean, nice veggie choices but as it was, it was dissapointing.
A restaurant worthy of a visit. The menu is definately a cut above the rest. Serving traditional Sri Lankan food, with great service and relaxing surroundings. There are plenty of cheap and cheerful places to get a sloppy curry in Halifax, but isn't this isn't one of those places. We had lamb patties with spicy chicken wings, both were excellent. Mains were Chicken Devil and Cod Curry with vegetable rice. The ingredients were fresh, everything was well cooked and the chef even came to check all was well and talked about the dishes! We had a traditional pudding at the end which was incredible. Drinks were reasonably priced and well served. All in all, a wonderful experience. We will be back. The photos ...well, we left with clean plates but managed to snap the deserts!
The desserts and the food was DELICIOUS. The presentation of the food was so good x Lovely ambience, and friendly service. Would def go again :)
We had our first visit to this place yesterday and it was brilliant! The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the restaurant is nicely decorated. We had never had Sri Lankan food before and weren’t too sure what to expect. We were blown away with what was served up. The flavors were fantastic and we can’t wait to go back. We’ll be introducing this place to other friends. They have lots of veggie and vegan options, in fact they do a vegan buffet once a month.
Very nice relaxing atmosphere with nice selection of drinks and very flavourful Sri lankan cuisine. Friendly staff. Must visit.

Went this evening 06/01/23 with my girlfriend. This place had popped up on my girlfriend’s Facebook, as we were looking for somewhere to eat. Normally we’d pick Italian, Indian or Mexican cuisine never ever picked Sri Lankan. Well it was outstanding. We go to Prashad on Leeds Rd and although Colombo is not as well polished as Prashad, it is certainly a very good restaurant. The flavours in the dishes are exceptional, the service is good, its good value for money, and the dishes are presented very well. They have 2 for £10 on cocktails up until 7pm daily which is good also. If your looking for something different or have never tried Sri Lankan cuisine before be sure to give this place a try you won’t be disappointed.

Came across this restaurant by accident on Google maps, and as we enjoy trying different foods from around the world we thought we'd give it a try as it's very close to where we live and I have to say we were very impressed. Ok we had a bit of a wait, as it was Saturday evening and very busy but it was well worth waiting for, the food was delicious, the staff were lovely and came to chat with us, thought the prices were very reasonable too. We will definitely go back and would recommend it to family and friends. They are Halal too just in case you need to know
