Awful lady was told order 3 times and still got it wrong. Talking to others instead of listening. The asking to swap change we had for other change (leaving me with no car park.money) Really upset my autistic husband who bravely volunteered to go in never going back.
Very poor. Missed various items from order yet charged for them.
First place I go when I come back from Dubai. Outstanding taste and quality. I used to eat at her mums place and the quality is still the same. Always been a loyal fan.
A Community Hub in a Chippy ? Having moved recently into the area it is always wise to find the best Fish & Chip Shop ..Period! Thursday 2nd May 2024: Visited Thelma's Fish & Chip Shop. The first thing to notice is how friendly the staff are. Giving a warm smile and welcome. The next is the cleanliness of the shop... perfect in every particular way and the 3rd is how well they know their customers. This takes it to another level. We had a right good chat whilst waiting for our fresh fish to cook. The customers appeared as friendly as the staff which is why I call this place a ' Community Hub in a Chippy! ' To mention that Fish & Chips are in their family blood and it sure shows with their expertise. We ordered 2 Fish and Reg Chips with Curry Sauce. Although we had to wait around 15 minuted whilst someone else was being served and awaiting our food it was time to start a conversation to see how friendly they are as well as the customers... Seriously, no dissapointment there! The food was plenty being very hot and fresh. As you can see from the photos, there was plenty enough to fill the biggest of bellies! Unwrapping and plating out was a brease, not chips or fish sticking to the paper here...! As we ate our food we both said how crispy the batter is around the fish.. talking of fish it just melted in your mouth.. perfect. The chips were cooked just right for myself and the curry sauce was good too. We truly finished off the whole large plate... I hope this review helps others with finding the perfect Chippy. This is deffinately my new local and it has to be said.. it is NOT my nearest meaning the travel is worth it. Thanks Staff for our new Chippy Home !
Chose to give this place one more try thinking maybe it was different staff and it would be better food but it’s just not. The mushy peas are always grey and taste watered down so either a cheap brand of peas or sat festering in a bains marie. It cost £18 for a fish chips mushy p’s, a fish bites chips and mushy p’s and 2 drinks. Its really not good value for money but considering its one of the only eateries around we risked it again. We wasn't asked if we wanted salt and vinegar so it was really bland tasting. I wouldn't normally whinge but its the third time we've been left feeling like its such a waste of money
Chips are lovely but dont do specials and portions not big enough to feed two
The worst fish and chip shop I’ve ever been to rude staff!! chips over cook and the fish is not Cod.. it’s a Fake avoid at all costs.. Rip off
Undercooked on the inside & burnt on the outside chips, fish was swimming in oil, mushy peas were watery & tasteless & don't get me started on the curry sauce. One of the worse chip shops I've even been too.
