   The worst tasting fish and chips I have ever had. Foul taste which I am sure is from over used or unclean frying oil. The fish was soaked in grease and the onion rings had almost no onion...just batter. To top it off, offered to pay cash rather than card and was then short changed. Will never use this fish and chips shop again...wish I'd looked at the Google reviews first!

   I ordered chips and they were all pretty much hard I had to go through and find a soft chip they were rock solid and I really didn’t enjoy them I opened them around 15 minutes after ordering and I thought they would be soggy to be honest but they were rock hard service was great and staff was amazing but definitely could improve on the chips as there was more hard chips then normal ones

   Well I ordered from here the first time this evening. Absolutely vile food and I am really not that picky. The chips were disgusting! They stunk and I don’t even know what of but they stunk awful!! Indication your oil needs changing. The fish was covered in grease, just drowned in grease. I ordered a chocolate brownie, surely nobody can mess up a brownie. Well they can. Frozen in the middle. They’d warmed it up for me whilst the middle was still frozen. The only edible bit was the mushy peas. Will not re order shocking food.

   Ordered on just eats. Waited 90 minutes for delivery. Food was cold the chips were coated in grease and the mushy peas were congealed in the tub. You should be ashamed to send out such poor quality food

   My wife and I visited this gorgeous fish and chip restaurant/takeaway this evening and had a beautiful meal in the lovely restaurant upstairs. It's very nicely decorated, very clean and we had a lovely welcome from the lady that served us. Service was friendly and efficient and we were made to feel very welcome. I had the large cod and chips and my wife just had the standard one, well the standard one was large and mine was very large, perfectly cooked in the only thing amazing fish and chips has to be cooked in, beef dripping. The mushy peas were perfect, the bread soft and fresh and all washed down with a pot of delicious Yorkshire tea. This was our first visit after finding out about them in the press yesterday saying they were number 3 in the top 10 of Yorkshire fish and chip takeaways by the fry awards and in the 50 best across the country, well done guys, it's a brilliant accolade but certainly well deserved. We were talking to the owners upstairs and they were telling us they have entertainment nights with singers and entertainers that are very popular, we'll certainly look out for those. Thank you for a lovely evening, we'll be regulars from now on.

   Called in today for the first time, really outstanding food. I can honestly say this is the best chippy I've been to in about twenty years. I would recommend this place to anyone without hesitation, will definitely be visiting again.

   Visited early Saturday evening and sat upstairs. Food was excellent and service was friendly. Upstairs has a great feel to it and we would have stayed for the live music had we not been on our way to an ice hockey game. Would definately recommend Ernie's and will be visiting again when we are in the area.
